if you read the bible Jesus says that preachers and those with religious authority will never understand the simplicity of Jesus' message. Jesus also said "He who is without sin cast the first stone"...Among many other messages of tolerance and acceptance... No one in Christianity interprets the bible in the same way. No denomination can agree with the others about the true meaning of scriptures within the bible. All you can do is choose how you want to follow Christianity. There are many churches that will share your point of view. Those usually tend to be Unity churches. I am not sure of the name of others. But most of those preachers on TV are preaching for entertainment or to push their own person views on others and not the message of Jesus...
All this coming from an agnostic..lol

I totally disagree with preachers who do not treat homosexuals rightfully according to the Scriptures. There are Christians who do not welcome homosexuals to their church or homes (perhaps because they fear that their own children will be negatively influenced by these group of people), discriminate them (just like the other groups of secular society would do towards them) or despise them for who (or what) they are. I personally think that we Christians can do better than that. Homosexuals are still humans and they have souls (essentially, they are created in the image of God, like all of us are) - we as Christians should care and share the love of Christ, even with them.
I believe and am deeply convinced with the proofs from the Scriptures that each of us are wonderfully and fearfully made. We have a creator God and He has destined us even before the beginning of time. He knows exactly in which time frame we will live in, where we will live in, who our parents are and what gender we are. I have a lot of sympathy on the homosexuals because they have failed to recognize the fact that their gender has been determined by the creator God. Even their act of living a homosexual life is rebelling against God - saying to Him that they aren't satisfied with what they've been given and with what gender they are born with. They've instead been lied to by the devil, believing that they're supposed to be something else and not what God had intended for them to be. I have known a few ex-homosexuals who have experienced God and have since been changed. There certainly cannot be an instant change in them, but they gradually change to be the masculine or feminine person they were created to be. They are no longer homosexuals right now.
God hates not the sinner, but the sin (although there are certain groups of people that God hates, as written in the Bible - those who keep on rebelling against Him and His ways eventhough they've known who He is). How does God view homosexuality? He calls it sin, nothing less and nothing more. As ambassadors of Christ, we also share the responsibility to give the love of Christ to them and point them to the truths of the Scripture. They have lived with the lies of the evil one for a long time, it's time we show them the truths and the light of the Scriptures. Only then can we pray that they will come to know God and His attributes, and that they will slowly be changed into what God wants them to be (only God alone can change them, not Christians). Christians can do their part by gently helping these homosexuals in this period of time.

I agree that homosexuals should be treated with all human dignity and kindness. I also agree that they are equal in the sight of God. But let's not beat about the bush, you guys don't just hold hands and stare innocently into each others eyes. I consider homosexuality a curse that some people are born with and your conscience calls upon you to struggle as best you can against it. Don't fool yourself into accepting it. One way or another, we are all struggling souls.

I completely understand you and agree 100% but all I can say is that preachers are only humans like you and I and everyone else. No one is perfect. We're surrounded by hypocrisy. That's just life. Life would be so much better if everyone practiced what they preached.

i would like to say that as a Christian, I do not hate homosexual people. It is the sin inwhich they partake that is most disturbing to me. I know of several homosexual people and they are nice people, but we have to understand that God sees it (homosexuality) as a very perverted way of life. It is sin and God does not like it or any sin for that matter. What we as humans take as hatered from God's preachers is not hatered towards the person, but is a hatered towards the sin ,for they know that sin is what kills the outward and inward man and it is sin that seperated man from God in the begining of mankind.God is not willing that any should perish, but that all of mankind should come to repentance from all sin. Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost. He came so that all mankind could be forgiven of their sins, whether that sin be homosexaulity, drunkards, fornicators, adulterers, murderers, liars, thieves, and all ungodliness that mankind has to offer. It is because of their love for all souls, that some preachers are so zealous about preaching against the fruits of our sinful flesh.

Preachers are human too. Those values that they preach are difficult to do. Humans has their own nature and I am not surprise to see many hypocrisy because simply nobody is perfect and many preachers can just open their mouth.

3 reasons:
First, it is s source of power. Power can be increased by bending the rules and the message without beaking the law. As a result, it is inherently susceptable to corruption.
Second, many do whole heartedly believe it is ot only their right, it is their responsibility to actively assult things that go against their religious beliefs like homosexuality (yes, I do disagree with their beliefs).
Third, free will. As long as they stay within the law, they have as much right to hate you as you have to hate them.
Until mainstream Christians reclaim our religion, insisting Christian leaders follow the teachings of Christ and the warnings of revelations and disengage fom politics this will continue.
(Politics is inherently corrupt as it offers an advantage to gaining power and/or wealth thru unethical behavior - association with politics opens religion to the same corruption - this is directly warned against in revelations to the extent that it is considered a sign of the apocolypse.)

You believe you have the same right in God's eye's?
your wrong according too God's Word itself.
Now. You show me in The Holy Bible, where a Christian treats you with kid gloves and caters to your every whim.
YOU can't.
I'll show you several places, a Christian is not even to be around you, much less strike up a conversation.
any questions?
