Why are you?

Today in the West, the term "God" typically refers to a monotheistic concept of a Supreme Being, that is being unlike any other being.
In the Advaita Vedantan school of Hinduism, reality is ultimately seen as being a single, qualityless, changeless being called nirguna Brahman. However, nirguna Brahman is understood to be beyond "ordinary" human comprehension. What we ordinarily perceive, that is a world of many things, is brought on by consequences of our actions, and it is difficult, if not impossible, to conceive of nirguna Brahman.

Conclusions on the existence of God can be roughly divided into two camps: theist and atheist. Both of these camps can be further divided into two groups each, based on the belief of whether or not their position has been conclusively proven by the arguments.
The theistic conclusion is that the arguments indicate there are sufficient reasons to believe in the existence of God or gods.
Doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church that God's existence has been rationally demonstrated. Some other Christians in different denominations hold similar views.
doctrines that belong essentially to faith and cannot be proved, such as the doctrine of the Trinity or the Incarnation, and
Doctrines that can be accepted by faith but can also be known by reason; that is, truths revealed by special revelation and by general revelation.

God exists, but this cannot be proven

Others have suggested that the several logical and philosophical arguments for the existence of God miss the point. The word god has a meaning in human culture and history that does not correspond to the beings whose necessity is proven by such arguments, assuming they are valid proofs. The real question is not whether a "most perfect being" or an "uncaused first cause" exist; the real question is whether Yahweh or Vishnu or Zeus, or some other deity of attested human religion, exists, and if so which deity. The proofs do not resolve that issue.
The atheistic conclusion is that the arguments indicate there are not sufficient reasons to believe in a God or gods either because they don't exist or other reasons such as the words don't refer to anything, or the concept makes no sense or it is unknowable.
Agnostics hold that the existence of God or any deity is uncertain. Possible reasons for holding this view are a belief that the existence of any deity has not yet been sufficiently proven, that the existence of a deity cannot be proven, or, quite simply, that claims about the existence or non-existence of any deity make no sense.

Conclusion::---> Most promissing solution to this question is given by Advaita Vedanta of hinduism.Unless we don't evolve form our current state.we can't perceive God. Science hv prove that evolution of human being is still going on.when we will reach the last stage of evolution process we will know who is god.The main question is.. are there any way to improve our evolution speed.. why there is need to wait for millions of years?.. answer is there r ways. well. this is subject of ur another question.LOL .
see ya,
Bye

I see many people talking about "proving" the existence of God. I wonder if this really the right word to be using -- the word "prove" being a word of science, when what we are talking about is belief, a idea that is apart and separate from the scientific realm.

The Old Testament doesn't talk so much about either proving or believing but more about "knowing" in the sense of relationship. To me the question is more one of whether or not we "know" God rather than can we "prove" God.

I don't think that we can know god or believe in God by using logic or science --knowing God --coming into relationship with God--is something that happens over time--like any relationship.

So I would not worry so much about trying to prove that God is real. There is a saying about not having to keep working so hard to endlessly search for God, but rather just wait instead for God to find you!

If God only helps good people, I would say that there are many good people of many different faiths --but there are no perfect people in any faith. So, we are pretty much all on the same level--even Mother Theresa was not perfect. Each form of faith has its strong points and its blind spots -- but all are ways of knowing God. The Dali Lhama has said that it is perfectly fine for one to stay in the same faith as one is born into --or is the main faith of one's culture.

No matter where you are, who you are or what you are doing in your life, you can just let God find you and see what happens.

god is real ,because god is a term used for some supernatural power.it lies in faith.
where as religion is something which is created by man himself so as to sustain a better social life .but again all the religions believe in some or the other state of super natural power whether it may be represented by an idol, picture, any other human being or may be stone also .
science is something discovered by man but science cannot be invented hence this proves that there is every thing in existing in nature and the power which runs this natural cycle is nothing but named GOD.

God is all the religions. But he is more than that too. He is spiritual. God created science to be real. He created science so we could have a better understanding of his creation. And lastly, we don't know that God is real. The only thing we know that is real is our faith that God is real, whether he is or not.

In all intelligence and honesty, God can't be considered real. There is no proof, only faith. And if a life is lived by faith only, will you get anywhere? God is a figment of someone's imagination that was hoping for something more than a drab existance, so why not create a deity? Blind faith is never good, and ignorace is never bliss. Some people feel the need to have faith in something unprooved. Silly, in my opinion.

God is the Almighty God. The one and only God.He just is.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

You must accept Jesus as your savior and admit to Jesus that you are a sinner, and repent of those sins. ( that means be remorseful for sinning) You must acknowlege that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and invite HIm into your heart and life. If you do this, you have been born again in the Name of Jesus.

Salvation and accepting Jesus as your savior is the ONLY way to heaven. The ONLY way. It is very real and so is God.

John 3:16-18
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Don't scale things with human scale, which is limited to our physical limitations! Don't think that science is complete and perfect. Maybe there would be things which are not the way we think they are. If you tell a fetus about light, its definition of light is something that it has experienced, not what we are experiencing as progressed human being. We are all fetuses in this life and no one knows what's going to be real after death. Just don't scale things with human scale.

We can't prove something which is abstract. Anyway, we even can't prove our existence is real, how could we further prove the God's existence?
I afraid there is no hope to understand the world within the length of my life. It is weird...(Please check my profile if you wanna know more)

God is real, because He is.
That's like saying why are parents real?
The Question doesn't make sense.
How can we question the Creator of all things if He exists. He was her before anything was. He exists because He is the Great I AM!

If God Didn't exist, You couldn't ask because you wouldn't exist to ask and we wouldn't exist to answer.

God Bless You and give you Faith, ;-)
