I want my kids to be able to swim, they are 6 and 4 and are both terrified to put their heads under the water, which is making it slightly difficult to teach them....any ideas for things we can do at home in our pool to help them?

I don't know about you, but my youngest child was unable to learn from me. I took him to a city pool and he was able to learn that way.
Or you could check out the YWCA, I know that they have classes for tots and moms.
Just be patient, they will learn.
Hope this helps.

show them how to bubble then how to hold breath and let them practice in the shallow water tell them to close eyes so chorine wont burn. tell them to try it for 10 sec at first

I am adult, I was presured to learn to swim by parent and also took lessons. I had to put my head in to get the gym credit in college , I hate to do it . It feels terrible to me even tho I do know how to avoid a nose full , it gets into my ears and I have gotten bad infections and I would never do it if not forced by a great need
