I have a Chihuaha and Jack Russel. The Chihuaha is in heat. The Jack Russel is 6 months old and started humping her. Well, he found it. Then, he got stuck inside her and we couldn't separate them. Should I let nature take it's course, or pull them apart? Yes, this is my first experience, so please be kind.

That's normal. That's how they breed. Looks like you are going to have some puppies. Congrats!

You cant pull them apart it would be extremly Painfull mark your calender in 63 days you shoud behaving puppies ..start saving momey too..With the femele being a Chihuaha(hope shenot a tiny one) and her breeding with a JRT You may have to pay for a C-section..This breed often has a hard time giving birth anyway..My advice would be to make an appt and go ahead and get her fixed in the next few weeks..It will probably save you money and heartache in the long run

Should you get her to the vet instantaneously the vet can give her a injection that may discontinue any pregnancy however they can best do that as soon as so if she obtained caught again they cannot give her yet another. I might recommendation you name you vet it possibly simply get her spayed would be high-quality. There are some distance to many unwated pups and puppies in rescue and killed every years when you consider that there aren't adequate houses. And that i mean killed they're prefectly wellness loving puppies but due to the fact that of irresponsible house owners and over breeding they aren't any homes. I do not supposed to be impolite through why haven't you had them neutered before this occurred. Get each your dogs done.

Couple years ago my Chihuahua's got 'MARRIED', as we tell the kids, the first time (NOT the last by FAR)... I called the vet (after hours/emergency#...It was like after midnight). Said it is normal, it's part of the pregnancy process... Just leave them be, they will get un-stuck!!! (And they'll start licking themselves...mine do anyway).
If the male is going to get quite a bit bigger than the female I would consult your vet. It may not be good/healthy for her to birth the big (to her size) pups...Could need C-section or worse...cause Death from birthing!!! Don't mean to scare you, but ya need to talk to the vet if there's a great size difference!!!

Just let them be for now.
If you don't want pups, seperate them for the next 15 days or so.
In case you want to be doubly sure, take the female to your vet 48 hours after the crossing.
If you have enough friends who'd be interested in the pups- go ahead and let your dogs breed. If you don't . . . .think of life with 4 -6 pups in the next 62 days, make sure youare prepared by then.
All the best.

Ok, now that I got that out of my system, here comes the really funny part! A dog's penis swells during intercourse, and can swell so much that it becomes stuck inside the other dog. After a while, the swelling will go down. Be patient and have fun laughing at them. I know I am, and I can't even see it!

for the moment let nature take its course. Its a bit questionable as to if a 6 month old would be fertile but if you do not want puppies (and yes I agree you likly may be paying for a c-section) and do not want to spay the ***** there exists a mismate shot that works as a morning after pill but it needs to be done SOON so contact your vet if that route is your choice.

oh gosh , DO not try to pull them apart. You could possibly harm one of them, if not both.
Separation should occur with in 30 minutes or less. This will happen again if you do not separate them. Even if she is already preg.

Leave them be. Let nature take over. If they really got stuck, as in really stuck - better take them to the vet asap.
