I was running errands today and while waiting at a red light, I saw a couple holing a sign that read " Pregnant and homeless" I was wishing i had some extra money to give them, and thinking about how sad it was. She was visibily pregnant. The only money I had was fifteen dollars I was getting ready to put in my gas tank, because the gas light was on. So the light turned green, and my car would not go. I had just ran out of gas, and In all of my years I had never ran out of gas. I was right in front of the couple holding the sign. The man helped me push my car to the nearby gas station. I thanked him and gave him five dollars and put the ten dollars in my tank. I guess they needed that five dollars more than I did. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and that God was trying to tell me something today.

I do. I do not always know the reason of why things happen, but I think that God often uses us to answer other peoples prayers, and other people to answer ours.

I do not believe that everything happens for a reason, but if running out of gas is what it took for you to do as you wanted and thought you should, then running out of gas was,in this case, a good thing. I do believe that there is some synchronicity to the world and when we are in a position we notice things that fit and work with our situation. I hope they got good mileage out of the 5 bucks and you got good mileage out of the gas. Maybe they were put there to push your car when it ran out of gas, instead of the gas running out so that they could be given five dollars, it all works together and it all seems to work out.

No, there is such a thing as randomness.

Logically, what you are saying is that all events are casually related and that THERE IS NO RANDOMNESS nor COVARIANCE.

That's impossible. Randomnes and covariance are common phenomena.

Now, today you ran out of gas next to a homeless couple expecting a baby. Random? Covarying and matching your mood? Was there a reason for it?

I am not sure at all. Somethings happen for a reason. Some other things just happen for no reason on no plan.

Funny - I was supposed to be at the birth of my twin sister's first child. I had helped so much during the pregnancy and I was planning to be there. I had a social business meeting to go to first and then I was heading right over to the hospital.

I was really nervous about it, I didn't know what to expect - and my car broke down on the way there. For no good reason, there I was on I95 and I broke down. Had to be towed and the garage found nothing wrong the next day.

My mother said she was glad that I wasn't there because it wasn't the easiest and I hadn't had kids yet. She felt that it was very lucky that the car broke down. Of course my sister was furious at me and she accused me of using my strong personal power to create a situation I could be expect to rally from - and that may very well be true. Or maybe someone was looking out for me.

In your case, I would guess that you really knew in your heart that it was the right thing to do but your mind was about to override. I believe it was your own personal power shining through to help you do what was right. The help you gave them could have meant all the world to them and their child. Well done!

Peace!

I really do believe everything happens pretty much for a reason just like the other day at my house. I was begging my mom to fix me something to eat cause i was so hungry. But me and her where laying down and we both feel asleep . When we woke up my dad told us that the wires in the dryer burnt. When he went out of the room my mom said to me" see if we would not of feel asleep then the house could of burnt down cause the wires might be connected from the stove to the dryer" I am so glad my mom did not fix me anything to eat.:) then that is!

Hey good for you, nice thing you did.

But sometimes the people holding these signs don't look so poor, or hungry, or homeless. Eg. piercings all over the place, especially on the face, and all kind of expensive looking tattoos all over the body. Glazed over eyes, long sleeve shirts on a real hot summer day, bad language

I do not believe that everything happens for a reason, some times s h i t happens, accidentally, willy nilly, no rhyme or reason.
I have had similar experiences to yours that appeared to have been so fortunate that it could not have happened randomly. For example, I have never experienced bad weather. That may sound strange but I wonder about that fact. I have experienced cold weather in Fairbanks and hot weather in Mexico. I have been a thousand yards from tornadoes but have never been in bad weather. Unusual weather, but never bad weather. I think that is kind of a miracle for which I am very grateful.

Yes, God brought me back to a friend after 10 years of both of us looking for each other. Then, 2 weeks after we reunited...her mom had a stroke and a heart attack.they will be pulling the plug tomorrow. I think God knew she would need me right now. It is going to be a sad day tomorrow...
I amglad you were able to help them. That is awesome.

Yep, I'd say you were both in the right place at the right time. Pretty cool!
