My husband builds foundations, and the weather kicks his butt. But I go to school 3 nights a week, and work on the weekends, while raising 2 girls. I need him to pitch in more but, he is always soo tired. Any Ideas on how to keep him alert enough to watch our kids?

Maybe you should get someone else to watch the kids during the summer. I know how heat can burn me out. Plus ask yourself this question. "is he really reliable around the kids if he is tired" Plus if he stays awake he could go into work tired and get hurt there.

"I have a 2 day old newborn..." That's all I needed to read. He's WAY too young to be trying to keep him awake during the day! Newborns have their days and nights mixed up for some time. My son was 8 weeks when he finally got the hang of things. Trying to keep up a NEW newborn will only make in an overtired and overly cranky baby and a more stressed out momma. Sorry but patience is the only thing that works when it comes to this.

Given that he's tired from work, better talk to him about the evenings you have to be in school. I think it would be better for everyone if you hired a sitter or any relative to stay with the kids while he sleeps and you're in school. Its much better that way and it will avoid anything untoward from happening.

exercise is good. my husband takes our son for a stroll around the neighborhood in the evening. he works 10-12 hours a day in the heat as a commercial electrician but he likes to spend the time with the kid and his beer belly is disappearing.

Quit school and work both. Then when he starts to fall asleep, you can jab him in the ribs with your elbow!!
Doesn't he have a good enough job to support ya'll?

Much Love!!

Put itch powder in his sheets, or build a fire under his ***. He builds foundations? The foundation of a marriage, like a house foundation, is four-square, consisting of mutual effort, mutual responsibility, consideration, and cooperation.
