My husband just went to the restroom because he needed to deficate. Anyway- before he did so, he felt something dripping and he touched to see why it felt to liquid. It was BLOOD! Why is he having anal bleeding? Do I need to take him to the doctor? What is this called?

Don't get too worried.
He needs a checkup. Been there done that. Go to the emergency room, just to stop the bleeding. Schedule an appointment with a doctor. He probably ruptured an inter hemorrhoid or has a few polyps.
Don't let the massive amounts of blood scare you. Be calm. Be in charge for him.

That depends...did it hurt like a ripping of the taint? How long has he been having this anal bleeding. If not that often, then tell him don't push so hard next time when deficating, or tell his boyfriend to be more gentle with him in the bedroom...hehehe....kidding. He has to relax the colon. Not push it out with full force...that does some tearing.
He had this for years and he never thought of seeing a Doc. He needs an MRI..get that brain checked out...cause that boy ain't thinking straight....

could be hemmoroids. has he ever had those before? if so, they are easily treated with over the counter medication, such as preparation h. if the blood is very bright red, and there isnt too much of it, it is more than likely hemmroids. however, if there is alot of bleeding, regardless of color, i would go to a doctor right away - could be some sort of bleed higher up in the rectum.

You should take him to the doctor since it seems like the bleeding was 'bleeding' and not spotty. Better to be safe. It could be caused by a number of factors, and the doctor can best determine and test. Read the article below....Hope he is better.

I would take him to the doctor asap. It could be a million different things. I am in the medical field and this is something that is taken very seriously and shouldn't be put off in case there is something very wrong with him.

I would take him to a doctor ASAP, there are basically three reasons someone would bleed out their ***.
Having anal sex with other men is the least health threatening, so let's hope its that...

He probably has a bleeding hemorrhoid. Not serious but it can be uncomfortable. He still should have it checked out with his doctor.

He needs to be taken to a doctor. Rectal bleeding could be a sign of a much bigger problem.
