Maybe you have obsessive compulsive disorder or some underlying anxiety over something else. Sometimes when you are anxious about something you don't want to think about, you will obsess over other things to keep from thinking about what is really bothering you. I would suggest talking with your doctor or maybe a therapist.

OMG yes I am the exact same way, If i have a sore throat I'm like great I have mouth cancer, if I have a headache I think I have a brain tumor every week it seems to be something new, and I guess it is hard for me to really help you since I am the same way, so I will tell you what people tell me, the more you worry the more stress the more stress the more your body can't fight infections and the whole worrying in the end willl prolly give you cancer, so if you don't want it you need to stop worrying and just go to the docotors when something really doesn't seem right. Also I have thought I have had every type of cancer and I really have not , so you can't live your life worrying about things you cannot control. Eat healthy don't smoke and exercise, and stya postive. If you are going to get cancer there is nothing you can do , if you are healthy and have a positive state of mind you will prolly beat it if you got it. I know its so hard cause it seems like everyone has it. But its better not to worry and just live your life.

Your not that weird for feeling this way.
But it is a mental thing that you are dealing with.
The best option would be to talk to a counselor.
Some other things to think about is if you are wanting or looking for something to be wrong with you for a particular reason.....do you feel that you deserve to be sick? Are you unhappy with some things in your life and you feel that getting really sick would help relieve certain responsibilites or stress to perform or achieve?
Just remember if it's none of the above that you can look up stats on women who get certain types of cancer and see what your risks are. If you have a higher risk for a particular cancer then get checked once a year for it and other than that then make a choice and effort not to worry about it or clear it from your mind every time you start thinking unrealistic thought of having cancer.
Also remember that if you have cancer you would have usually have symptoms of come sort that would make you very sick.
Some of the cancer's that have no symptoms is cervical cancer, ovarian, colon, and their are probably others. There are some higher risks if you have direct family members who have certain cancers, then you should always get checked.

Due to many family health problems I started feeling the same way you do. I was at the doctor's office for every little thing. I talked with a psychologist who advised me to get a thorough physical examination (to rule out any REAL problems) and to tell my doctor about my health concerns. After a number of counseling sessions I was able to overcome my constant fear.
I now get routine annual check-ups and do not worry endlessly about cancer and other diseases. I have had two breast lumps removed which, thankfully, were benign. Strangely, while I was waiting for the biopsy results I was not afraid. For me, the fear of the unknown was the problem. I hope you can overcome that fear so you can just live a happy life. Good luck.

Hey Tabs here's a bulletin! It always IS cancer. The amazing thing is that it always goes away, right? Right? See how healthy you are now?

So get on out there and find something else to obsess over. Like lint.

It's an awful life to live- if you can really consider it living. I am not one and I don't know of anyone who is one. Thank goodness.
