Wash it everyday in pigs blood. At least five ounces at a time. Works wonders for me.

Back in the days when I was a "General Hospital" fan, I was reading on the soap stars and their beauty secrets, and the one that caught my eye was about hair, and thats what I was desperately looking for, and to this day I still use it (25+yrs or so) Heres the receipe: empty shampoo bottle ( or any kind w/ a pourer) put 2 eggs , honey ( about 1/2 cup), and some olive oil( about 1/2 cup or so) mix all together in bottle, shake very well. Put on dry hair, after hair is soaked , put a plastic bag over your head, then put a "HOT" towel. Leave on 30 mins. Rinse, and shampoo as normal. Start of doing it once every 2 weeks , gradually to once a month. What this does is it strips off all the oils and dirt and whatever else is on your head and puts back the oils you need back in your scalp, also gives a beautiful shine beyond your dreams

Just keep up with the maintenance. Don't over wash your hair, some one mentioned washing it twice every time you shampoo DON'T do that!! Overwashing will cause your hair to dry out. It's better for your hair to wash it every other day(if possible, depending on how oily your scalp is). Use a shampoo for your hair type (normal, dryed & damaged, color treated etc.). Be sure to have your hair trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks. Keep the thermal styling(blow drying, flat ironing, etc.) to a minimum. If you dye your hair use Demi permanent color(it lasts just as long as permanent without the harsh chemicals) or temporary colors.
Try not to wear your hair tied back too often, wearing your hair in ponytails will cause breakage. When you do pull it back be sure to use bands with no metal pieces.

I was told a long time ago that you must trim your hair every 8 weeks for "dusting". That is how you get it long (and mine is now at my waist). To be strong and healthy, eat lots of protein, make sure you find the "right" shampoo and conditioner; don't use chemicals on it, i.e., dye and perms, etc., and if you are in bad weather make sure you protect it by putting it under a cap, scarf, etc. The biggest thing: keep it clean.
