I'm a HUGE Anne Rice vampire fan. Has anyone else ever wished SO badly that they could be turned? If you were, would you want to be taken unwillingly (by surprise, violently) or make it into a memorable experience, almost erotic? Would you be able to leave you family and friends and be able to kill? Would you kill no bodies (homeless, criminals) or would you go after more challanging prey?

To Fedup: Why, do you want to 'have a field day with me?"

To Theogodwyn: I'm not one of those pathetic 'goth girls' I prefer Interview with the Vamipre's interpretation of vampires, I couldn't stand Queen of the Damned. Partly because everyone was goth, and partly because they completely changed the story lines.

Well, in college I had the opportunity but I decided not to.

I was dating a girl who, as it turns out, was a vampire. It took me several months to come to this realization for I was fixated on her limitless beauty and infinite wisdom.

Her skin was as pale as the flesh of a lychee glowing in the moonlight for she refused to be seen by daylight.

She took classes in the evening and slept by day. The only times I saw her outdoors in the dawn were when it was raining. She loved the rain. She had a large collection of trench coats and umbrellas. Under her coat she wore the most lovely skirts. I always got a kick out of seeing her wear a skirt with boots. (not literally)

I loved her. When she was ill I would tend to her. When she was sad I would comfort her. The realization that she was a vampire momentarily stopped my heart as I was overcome by respect and fear.

In the end, I decided to break it off. I don't think that I am cut out to be a vampire. Perhaps I had the opportunity but I have yet to regret my decision.

ROCK ON!!!!! Anne is my girl (but is kind of wierd now that Stan died, but I guess I can understand)!!!!! I wouldn't mind meeting Lestat in a dark alley (if you get my drift). But to be honest, I don't know what I would do if given a choice: immortality or not. I can definately see pros and cons for both (namely looking FABULOUS for all time, but still, that 'all time' business). If I were to be taken by surprise/without fee will (thank you for that, Magnus), I don;t think I would leave my family and friends for the sake of killing. I mean, we humans/mortals kill to survive anyway, so it wouldn't be any different than what we do now...the middleman is just cut out, that is all. For my prey, I think I would take the "Body Theif" approach and take just enough it survive (not killing), then sealing up the wound and go bye-bye. However, I think I would indulge in a baddie now and then as a little treat (to be honest, I have a few people in mind I wouldn't mind as full out draining).

It all sounds pretty awesome! However, earining a living would not be awesome. Not everybody who's a vampire would be sweet enough to start a huge rock band and be rich. You'd have to get a crappy night job or live like a total tweaker. In an Anne Rice world though, yes..being a vampire would be awesome.

Anne Rice converted to Christianity. She felt empty with the occult.

I'm glad. It was getting hard for me to avoid the hordes of teenagers wanting me to turn them into vampires. Nothing more boring than the goth girls. No brains and iron deficient blood. Worse tasting than the peta girls.

As much as I love all of Anne Rice's vampire characters, i have never wanted to be one.

I love everything Anne Rice has ever written. I'm currently in love with "Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt." Everything she writes is full of warmth, love, life and excitement. Even when she writes about death and monsters.

I never believed in the vampire characters as real. I always thought of them as symbolic, not literal.

Either you are or you're not. I didn't make the decision to like the taste of blood. Why leave your family and friends? You need familiars. Personally I like A+, AB+, and B+. I just know who has it and that's who I go after. I put social class aside.

Well i dont really want to be a vamp but if i were turned i'd want it to be memorable like lastat and louie.
I could leave my family so long as i could check on the from time to time.
My first victim would George W Bush, and other jackasses such as him.

Anne Rice vampires are *******. Give me some good old fashioned Brahm Stoker Dracula, wolf controlling, concubine loving, psychopathic, london terrorising badassery.

I used to be so in-love with all of her characters! Mind you, I still love her books, but I found a new passion for albino monks ...

Anyway, I never wanted to have the Dark Gift, I simply wanted to have rough, spiritually awaking sex for hours with Marius. At the point of climax, I wanted him to pierce my neck and let me die peacefully in his arms. I wanted Marius to be my angel of death.

I actually went to New Orleans once on a secret mission to find one of the vampire. It never happened, unfortunately. Just some creepy guy with plastic teeth.
