It's not a question, but, oh well:
My cousin gave her baby a un-cooked hotdog, and her baby nearly suffocated.
Hot dogs expand in heat, so it will expand once it goes down your throught. Just warning anyone.

Yeah, it did sit in her stomach, actually, sorry for the missunderstanding.
She is not fit to take care of a child, (in a sense, the child was a mistake.) Every time we want to give her advice, she gets annoyed by me and others. I have 7 children by the way.
To frugernity:
My cousin gives her 1 yr old baby peanut butter WITH bread. We tried to talk her out of it. But she doesn't listen.

Woops, I think with or without bread, peanut butter is awful for little children

Ok, it's not un-cooked, it's heating the hotdog up, but most people got what I meant.

Little children are not suppose to have hotdogs. They can choke on them. Cut them in half lengthwise, and then smaller pieces. Small children should be monitored by an adult while eating. Take into consider the number of teeth a toddler has.

There is no such thing as an uncooked hot dog in America. All hot dogs are required to be pre-cooked, and only have to be reheated before serving. The common Ball Park Frank advertising campaign should have been a tip off to your cousin "they plump when you cook them". In addition, the human body does not create a high enough surface temperature to achieve this plumping action, so it is impossible for it to expand in a childs throat. Perhaps upon sitting in the stomach for an extended period of time, but not in the throat. Perhaps your cousin is unfit to raise a child.

It's not the uncooked part that creates the choking hazard.
Two things that are choking hazards and which even the Heimlich maneuver will not work on are:
Hot dogs (unless cut up). That round spongy stuff works just like a cork to plug the windpipe and just gives when you exhale instead of popping out. If you feed your kids hot dogs cut them up into thin strips. No whole dogs and none cut across so that they retain their circular shape.
Peanut butter with no bread. Similarly it fills up the airpipe and just moves up and down when you exhale but won't clear out.
But there are plenty of other reasons for not eating raw meat!

My kids didn't even know what a hot dog was until they were 5. Hot dogs are extremely hard to digest. Children under 5 simply don't have enough erupted teeth or the developed digestive system to tolerate any hot dogs, cooked or uncooked. I am very happy your cousins baby is OK.

I know the person who wrote this, she knows that you could never give someone a hotdog at that age, the person she's talking about is my cousin too, she had her baby at 17 and she is un-resposible. The person who wrote this has 7 children. My cousin did cut them up, but still...

ummmm.... work in a daycare, certified in CPR and First Aid AND child safety. u dont give kinds under the age of 7 a hot dog b4 u first slice it length wise and not at all b4 the age of 5 and still supervise after the age of 7, hot dogs r a major choking hazzard. so really, it wasnt the hot dog that was the problem, it was the ignorance or the parent.

Never heard of this. If anything the hot dog was not cut into small enough pieces for the baby to chew. Hot dogs are precooked so it has nothing to do with it. Expansion is not the reason. I have never heard of giving baby's hot dogs anyway. It evidently was a bad decision. Even if it was cut small enough, what about digestion issues.......
