Although this is laid out in Acts 2:38 many people miss it or don't believe it takes that. As someone who is living proof that it is truth.. I just want to know what you guys think about it. I'm all eyes.

Thanks for all sincere answers in advance!

To be born again, you must accept Jesus as your savior, and repent of your sins. You have to ask Jesus to forgive you of those sins, and invite Jesus to live in your heart and life, and give up your old sinful way of life and work on a relationship with Jesus.

Baptism follows being born again. It is symbolic of the old you dies and the new you come out of the water born again. It usutally takes place when you are a member of a church.

When the bible talks about speaking in tongues, it is referring to forign languages and not babbling senselessly. Tonuges is what happened at the tower of babble. God confused their speach so they could not communicate and not be able to finish the tower they were trying to build to heaven.

2 Timothy 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

This scripture is referring to the apostles only, not us. People misread and misunderstand the scriptures. They try to speed read thorugh it, rather than take their time and ask God to open the word to them..

Born Again! What an awesome and perfect life huh? As a Christian I believe that when you Admit you are a sinner, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and that God sent Jesus to die on the Cross for us so that we can ALL have eternal life when we accept Him and Confess that we are sinners and ask for forgiveness we are saved by Grace. PTL!
As for Acts 2:38 my Bible (Revised Standard Version) reads: "And Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit".
This does not completely mean speaking in tongues. Read 1 Cor. 14 about speaking in tongues.
There are many GIFTS from God. We all have gifts that we are to use to build His kingdom and spread His Good News.
God Bless

I believe in being baptized and the Holy Spirit. I think you do have to repent your sins. I am not sure about speaking in tongues in order to be "born again". We are all born in sin so in order to be born again there are some things that we must do. You named most, if not all them.

I try to live right and do the right thing. I pray and give thanks to God for everything from waking up to having a roof over my head.

You cannot worry about what other people think, you have to follow your heart and your beliefs on this matter.

I believe in God and the Bible and fact that He is coming back to get His people. I am striving to be one of those people. I still have some work to do as far as getting myself ready but I am doing it.

The real Born Again Christians has a limited number. It was mentiioned in the Book of Revelation Chapter 14 - their number is exactly 144,000 (the small flock). The first members were the Apostles and to date, there are only 9,000 plus remaining of the small flock here on earth. These born again Christians will go to heaven to help Jesus Christ rule the earth righteously to fulfill the plan of God to make the earth a paradise filled with righteous people.

I view being born again as a renewal of the mind, body, and spirit. If you look closely at these three things, they do not work together unless they are renewed. For example, your heart may tell you to make a decision, however your mind and body may cause you to compromise with your heart. You may start to think about why you shouldn't follow your heart and before you know it, you are making a decision based on thought and not on what you truthfully feel. When you are born again, these three things work together. Your heart (spirit) will guide you, your mind will teach you, and your body will reveal unknown truths. To be born again, means to understand why you here, to live for the glory of God, and to let Jesus' death heal you from the eternal death you were facing before being born again. ( Amen, to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!)

Being born again means just turning away from sin, speaking in tongues was a gift God gave to the disciples to speak to different nations about him and his son Jesus. The word tongues in the bible simply means another language, like Greek something, but many churches have taught that it means something totally different.

I am a Born Again Christian and I know how wonderful it has been to walk with the Lord. I never expected to become a Christian, people who I know from the past are still surprised to find out that I have accepted Jesus Christ. Jesus has made a positive change in my life.

I know how much of an impact it has made on my life to not walk alone in my struggles. I know the Love of Jesus Christ and it feels amazing. I am forever grateful for his sacrifice.♥

I don't believe babtism or speaking in toungues saves you. Only faith in Jesus Christ can do that. Ephesians 2: 8 says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God". You can't just pick out one verse and ignore the rest of the Bible. Babtism symbolizes being born again, that is into Christ's family. It is not, however, the point that you are. It is only symbolism. There is no verse in the bible that says you must be babtised or, much less, speak in toungues to be saved. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father but by Me." Notice he didn't say "no one comes to the father unless they are babtised" or "no one comes to the father unless they speak in toungues." God Bless!

Well, I'm not so sure about the speaking in tongues part, but otherwise, yeah... Jesus is the only way to be redeemed from the overwhelming burden and consequence of sin.

To be sure, I have no corner in matters of the spirit. Yet, as a child I was taught Jesus meant all to be reborn in the sense we would loose our jaded and cynical world view and instead gaze upon the world and its inhabitants with awe and thanksgiving. As an adult I have read the writings of Paul, in particular Acts, and come to the considered opinion that Paul had a great deal of disdain for women and like so many religious leaders became drunk on power. In particular, his reinterpretations and extrapolations of the words of Jesus indicate, to my way of thinking, he was a son of god wanna be. In short, Paul created and recorded as many traditions and laws as the Pharisees whom Jesus often berated for their tedious and cumbersome religious regulations. As for "living proof" you refer to , I respectfully submit your existence, with or without religious conviction, is only evidence that a homo sapien is, at this moment, alive on the earth and capable of complex thought and commuincation. Logical inferences cannot made when deductions are based on information which cannot be verified but exist solely as a function of faith.
