The 10 is dying I think. I know I can switch the plastic thing on back of the 80gb to make it primary master and put it where the 1gb is ( on the cables) but before the 10 gives up I would like to transfer the OS to the 80 and make it bootable. How do I do this please?

Another option to avoid reconfiguring and possible registry failures...

HD storage is cheap. Get a new HD - 160GB or higher. Yank out your 80 GB, put the 160 in as a slave, then use GHOST to move data from your 10GB.

The make the 160GB your bootable drive and leave your 80GB installed. It will retain its existing driver letter, so your registry settings won't get hosed.

Reinstalling Windows 2000 to the new hard disk should do it. It won't take long. Or were you looking for a different kind of solution? If that is the case, use Norton ghost to back up the system (you can choose to backup just the system or include the installed programs along with it)

If the 80 gig is empty, you can use a program called ghost to transfer the O/S. Essentially just copies the image to the other drive. Then just transfer the jumpers to reverse master slave relationship.
