some people are emotional, ather not,
often such unemotional state migt be in fact depression and somone just goes day by day, without getting satisfation
but there aslo might be person who has "killed emotion" under pressure of something that happend in past.
for example somone had so many problems in past that decided to turn off his emotions
other thing is someone can be just tough, and have some emototions, but not all, for example is able to be happy but not to be sad,
it is hard to say while you dont know the person,.
as some person do have emotion but are unable to show then and such as often seen by other as unemotional.

If these feelings persist more than 2 weeks you are probably experiencing a clinical depression. See your medical doctor for a check up and a referral to a mental health specialist. Remember depression is not your fault, you cannot just will yourself out of it, it has nothing to do with how strong or weak minded you are and millions of people in this country suffer from it. Sometimes it can be negative overload (seeing/hearing too much bad news whether or not it affects you directly.) stress, a loss, etc. However these symptoms lasting more than two weeks ARE depression. Seek help. I just said a prayer for you. God does exist and he love you. Talk to him like you would anyone else. He will comfort you and guide you to the help you need.

I think emotions are our barometer for our actions. They definitely let us know on an instinctual and uncontrollable level how we "feel" about certain things.
I guess sometimes the "big" questions of life are overwhelming... and no easy answers. And to dwell on them doesn't make the answers come any easier, so we just move on, accepting that we may not ever unlock the mysteries to life.
I agree with you that we often take life for granted... it's the big events that startle us back into making the most out of every day and no longer taking it for granted.

I believe in God, I believe in the Spirit World but I still feel exactly as you describe in your question! The only thing that really helps me is thinking , wondering, `What am I supposed to learn from this?` It gets me through the day anyway. Roll on tomorrow!

Because living takes so much energy, so much out of you. Some people don't have that much energy. Sometimes I'm too tired to appreciate the world, and other times, I see everything so clearly and vividly.

Call it positive thinking -- or self-confidence -- or "sincerity" -- by placing first in your life your IMAGE as you PROJECT it to others, you wrap yourself in a coccoon.
If you're selling your personality to others, than, as a salesman, you CANNOT care about the prospect while making a presentation.
That is the "uncaring" blank world you're talking about --and it is our American civil religion you are complaining about!

some people prefer to play numb so they can go by another day, it's constant denial to achieve survival.
can't blame them, some things hurt too much and I wouldn't like to be painfully aware of them all!
