Wash your dog off IMMEDIATELY! That could cause serious skin problems for your dog. Tell your husband that he's an @sshole & that he could get fined for cruelty to animals.
By the way, you are NOT a lunatic for wanting to protect your dog. It's your DOG!!!

We don't know how long you have been married. We don't know where you found your husband. Some of us are thinking he crawled out from under a rock somewhere and has no idea of what modern chemicals are intended for and can do to other live animals. It's a wonder he can even read the label, in part, at least enough to think it would be something to use on a live animal pet for some reason. Duh!!! If I were you, and adding up some of the other indicators he has shown you before this one, I would be looking up the name and number of a good divorce lawyer right about now--just in case he doesn't turn around really quick because of all these answers to your question. Be sure to show them to him and watch his responses to each. Maybe even have your tape recorder going to record your pertinent conversations during the interview. Oh well, or so it seems to me.

No offense, but that was a very ascinine thing for your husband to do. What if the dog ingests the carpet cleaner? it could kill him or her. Is he aware that if the dog does from this that it is deemed as a criminal act and he can and will be prosecuted in a court of law for this? I sincerely hope the dog will be okay. Take him or her to the vet as soon as possible and get it chicked out. If the dog starts vomoting, take him or her immediately.

People who intentionally harm animals are creepy. A situation like this would really make me take a second look at my relationship. If he has such little regard for the life of your dog, what might he be thinking about you? Children? Does he have anger issues? You might want to have a calm and rational talk with him. I ended a very serious relationship because the guy put my 10 lb. dog on top of a stackable washer/dryer and left the house. I came home to a very scared little old dog-lady. He said she peed on the floor, so he stuck her up there to teach her a lesson. I told him to hit the road because I was afraid of what he was capable of. Good luck.

Wash your dog immediately with water. Don't put any shampoo on it because it may have a chemical reaction. Call the vet and ask him what to do.
As for your husband, he is a real asshole and I would find me another husband. Seriously a man that does that to a poor innocent animal is loosing a few screws. You need to get out of that relationship...

SERIOUSLY bathe your dog ASAP and keep you eye on it for a few days. If it starts throwing up or develops a rash, get it to the vet ASAP.
As a pet owner you take on a large responsibility. A responsibility to care for your animal, to feed it to water it, to make sure it is spayed and its up to date on its shots and above all......to make sure that it is safe at all times. A pet is not a toy or a thing you can play with and then put away when you are tired of it. Its a long commitment. Your husband needs to grow up FAST and realize this is a living breathing animal that you have made a committment to and that he too must take on the responsibility of treating this animal with respect.
Good luck

Give your dog a bath immediately!! It could make him very very sick. If he has been licking himself, call your vet.
Then make your husband take a shower in the cleaner & lather his hair really good. I would have screamed at him too!

Wash your dog at once, that can cause serious skin conditions for your dog. Good job none of us know where you live, he would be reported to the animal control by now and charged with animal cruelty.

I'd take the dog to the vet to make sure s/he is okay, and then tell him he's responsible for the bill. If he protests, tell him those chemicals aren't for use on ANY living creature, and hope it sinks in next time.
