im 22 and have toddler. i moved out of my bf apartment back home with me parents. my father is treating me like im 16 all over againg giving me orders and not letting me go any where.how can i tell him with out hurting his feelings o treat me like an adult.

You are in a bit of a sticky spot, unfortunately I've been there too. The best advice I can give is to get on your feet as fast as you can and be thankful that your dad was there to help. I know that its hard and he might not want to respect you as the parent but that is the only boundary that really matters right now. It is also a boundary that you have to maintain, other wise your child and him will gang up on you when your toddler is older. Its much harder to argue with a grown up and a child than just a child. The sad thing is that most Grandparents do spoil the kids and then the parents are the bad guys even more. Stay strong and be respectful and require him to respect you.

let me guess.....parents never liked said bf. how can you expect to be treated as an adult when you make bad choices. you were shacking up with a man that you were not married to and had a child you are now not even supporting and ran home to mommy and daddy when you realized you were in over your head. be grateful they were willing to bail you out and grow up, i wouldn't treat you like an adult either. none of your actions have been in the best interest of your child.

His restrictions are to protect you. The failed relationship You went through ended up costing him as well as You. The toddler should be your first concern. Take the guidance from Dad and get your life back on track. Use the advantages you have to prepare to live alone again and be self supporting. Be thankful Dad has welcomed you back. He probably knew the guy was a loser from the beginning. Learn from your parents.

When you had a child; you gave up all rights to any personal life. That child COMES FIRST; for the next 18/21 years. FACE IT.
Get a job, and get a life under your own roof, with that child....then you'll see how hard the adult world is....
If you insist on "going out"; you'd better have a babysitter lined up ELSEWHERE.....and PAY that sitter like the rest of us ADULTS. It's called responsibility....and it's what your dad is trying ( however late ) to teach you.

It's hard to go home again and try to be an adult. I'm
sure your Father just worries about you and you have to understand that. You options are, you can move out,
or try to talk to him as an adult, not a 16 year old.

Well sweetie I'm sorry to say it,but if you have a toddler you need to be taken care of your child instead of going out.You are only 16 your dad still feals like your a child which means he loves you.Just try talking to him if you want to.

Your in his house,what do expect?If you want to be grown,get your own apartment.(No with some guy or boyfriend)your own.Then you will really find out what being an adult is all about.
