Yes it is inappropriate. You may have sex on the first date and that person thinks that means that you are in a permanent relationship...and if one of you isn't committed then the other could be devastated. The chances are that you are not going to get married after the first date. ..and what if there is an accident and a pregnancy results from this first date? You hardly know each other and already you are a family. ...and what if you have sex on the first date and the next day he/she tells you they have a serious STD. ..and would have told you if they knew you better. What if you have sex on the first date and then decide not to again...and the date becomes obsessed with you because you are thier sexual partner...then you end up with a stalker.

Yes it is inappropriate
Each time you have sex with some one you become a part of them and them apart of you this is basically you marrying that person when the two come together as one flesh and one mind this is what the marriage bed is have sex when you marry some you are not actually married until you have sex this is what is called consummating your marriage if this person is worth having the this person is worth waiting for any dog can just go out and have sex with out even knowing the other dog this is how std's spread and aides you don't really know that person on a first date but people do it all the time and then they move on to the next victom.

Inappropriate is ambiguous to begin with, and the countless variables in your question limit the possibility of a decent response. I don't know about the appropriate part, but sex on the first date will certainly have consequences, and if they are acceptable, and the sex was consensual, then I don't think it can be judge by outside parties as inappropriate.

Absolutely! You should know the person that you have sex with.
You cannot learn enough about a person on the first date. Self respect should help you figure this one out. It is also not safe.
You need to know something about your partners background, too. Again. It is absolutely inappropriate!

Now a first date doesnt mean that the two people don't know each other. They could have been close for a long time and then on their first date things just happened. As long as it is not a one night stand, it shouldnt be in appropriate.

Sex on the first date? Only if you have no plans for any kind of relationship. It gives a very negative impression of you, and puts you at risk for STD's as well as pregnancy. And you will never be taken seriously as a person.

Well, if you have sex on the 1st date, it wasn't really a date, it was a booty call and these "relationships" rarely turn into anything but more booty calls.

I think that sex on the first date is bad because that means you just looking for sex and not looking for a relationship. if you want to have sex spend some with her or him and then buy a condom but i don't for recommend for non-married couples.

It depends on the girl, but I don't think its a smart idea, it makes it seem like the relationship is more for the sex than the actual relationship. But I'm not going to say no if she insists
