My girlfriend and I have disagreed on many things before and it's never been a problem. Honestly, we disagree on almost everything. But tonight, she said something that really bothered me, something that made me see her in a new light. We were talking about what's happening with Israel at the moment, and she said, "we should just blow them all up". This coming from someone who doesn't watch the news because she doesn't want to know what 's going on in the world, because it's all so depressing. I told her that blowing up entire countries isn't the answer. I really couldn't think of anything else better to say. It just seemed like something some redneck would say. My girlfriend is by no means a redneck. I don't know. I'm just not sure how to react to her statement.

It's clear that your girlfriend is not well versed on the destructive power of a nuclear blast. And chances are she has heard you say a few things that left her cringing. While it may be a little disconcerting that she would default to nukes, maybe you could leverage the situation to teach her a little something about the world we live in. Find some pictures of Hiroshima and explain how today's nukes are a 1,000 times more powerful. Describe what happens to the air, water, and land. Explain the CONSEQUENCES of a nuclear explosion and maybe then she will begin to grasp the gravity of such a prospect. People who throw out comments like that clearly don't know what they're talking about...so you can either shrug it off as something she just doesn't know about, or you can attempt to shed a little light on the topic for her. If it's important to you that she understand, then it's worth broaching.
Only with understanding will she appreciate what you and I know to be true: nukes are the great unraveling of humankind, a doomsday machine that will set into a motion a chain of events all but guaranteed to wipe us out of existence. It is the threat of nuclear weapons that keeps nations honest - it is the use of them that will send us to our grave.

if i were a guy i would not marry a woman like that it just shows her as being an ignorant scum bag. only a scum bag would say something like that. especially if she does not live over there or knows anything about the situation. but remember this is the attitude od a majority of americans. either u educate her or dump her. she obviously has no reguard for human life. imagine marrying a cold hearted scum bag like that. she will raise her kids to be the same way. sorry but i had to say the truth

She can be fed up by all the bad news around us. I don't think she knows how devastating a war can be, or how destructive a nuclear warhead is.
The world is out of control, there are wars everywhere, uneasiness, tensions, you name it.
Go easy on her. She is just tired of hearing that Israel and the Palestinians are at it again.

If no longer then your "subject" stems out of your guy or woman insecurities, anxieties and shortage of self assurance in the different individual's capacity to workout sound judgements making. you have the choose to make a determination for her it is in her terrific activity or on your guy or woman terrific activity? Whose terrific activity are you maximum serious approximately? A courting that's no longer geared up on mutual believe and understand-how will ultimately no longer succeed.

tell her she should try to read up on the situation or watch the news before making such radical statements. Ignorance is dangerous, and quite frankly more depressing than being Knowledgeable
