As long as it takes 4 you to stop thinking about that person. Don't listen when you hear you have to wait half your old relationship time. When you stop thinking about that person then move on. Don't lie to yourself.

As long as the other person doesn't know, asap. If you broke up with them, make sure they don't know because that's a real slap to the face for them. However, if they broke up with you that only shows how much stronger you are (or you never cared in the first place), which can also lead to them thinking maybe breaking up with you was a bad idea. Either way, good luck!

Start dating again whenever you feel confident enough. But please don't talk about the past relationship the whole time with the new date or it won't last long!
