Who do you care about more, illegals or homeless Americans?

According to studies in 2001 there were 4 million documented homeless in America which only accounts for aproximately 35% of the total homeless population, approximately 39% are CHILDREN, 30% are white, 45% are black, 37% are veterans and 10% are hispanic. For those of you who will try to make it out to be their own fault keep in mind that 37% of homeless have JOBS!This is really disturbing, pro illillegals will support the drain on our economy and resources with sympathetic BS, while the children of the U.S. sleep on the street. Keep in mind I went to public school but even I can figure out that if we are only documenting 35% of the homeless and came up with 4 million the total would be between 11 and 12 million homeless in America. Isnt it a little coincidental that there is aprox. the same number of illegals in this country?
Who comes first illegals or citizens of this country? Where is our loyalty? Who is next?
Will your children sleep on the street to accomodate illegals?

Erika(principessa) thank you for your answer, it completely proves exactly the point i wanted to make here, there is plenty of compassion for illegals and their hard times, but bring up an american issue of hard times, BAM!!!! its their own fault, i am sure that you can also prove that the 40% of the homeless that are children put them selves their by their own actions, thats almost half of the homeless, that is the saddest thing i can imagine. there is no justifying this, there is no excuse!! Just for the record I have never posted anything thet even remotely bases my dislike for illegals to any race or color, they are breaking the law and hurting our country by not using the proper channels to get here. i have also been to many very poor countries in my military career including mexico, I do have compassion, I lack tolerrence. To whoever the *** was that raked you for using stats from 2001, I'd like to challenge him to find stats on the homeless in this country since 2001 and wish him luck. There aren't any, not even on the White House web site, under ISSUES of their homepage you'll find NO homeless, apparently homelessness is not an issue with our Government, the Federal Stats homepage provides NO recent or current stats either. From what I see, homelessness hasn't been addressed since 2001. This is just sorry and shameful.
Recently hadenough brought up the fact that America is sending 100 million to Mexico for micro loans, that's loans for impoverished entrprenuers. A recent study I read said that America has budgeted 125 million for HUD this year and they bragged that it will help 2,700 poverty stricken Americans get their own home. WOOT-WOO! Golly gee wiz! Considering how far an American dollar goes in Mexico I am pretty confident that 100 million will take care of a lot more than 2,700 poverty stricken Mexicans. For all the morons who wanted to answer with implications that homelessness is a personal problem being their own fault.....where is your compassion for your own.....where is your compassion for these American children, it surely isn't a childs fault they are sleeping on the street.....how do you express compassion for poor Mexican children and not American kids......how the hell do you sleep at night? I ask you too......where is your loyalty? Our country is giving them 100 million and giving our own people 125 million and this is just one example, there are many others, like health care and welfare. There is no balance, no compassion and nothing fair about giving our $ to illegals when our own are going without so much.

You citied a study that is 5 years old regarding the homeless population. True, there are some working homeless, who deserve a helping hand to make a better life for their families, but it can't be blamed on illegals. Get real.

Look, first I will recommend you to do some research so you will not make a fool of yourself. They are called undocumented immigrants unless they have commited a crime.

Why do undocumented immigrants need to come to the US (or to another country because this is not the only country they go to)? Because the United States are exploiting the people and corrupting the government on these counntries. Do you think that the United States is being friendly and a hero by imposing treates such as NAFTA. Do you know what are the conditions of these treaties? It is called Structural Adjustment Programs. And these include to cut the government spending on the public on these countries and the free entrance of US companies in these countries. The Unites States coeporations can go to these countries and do wathever they want without or with a few regulations. Besides taking the jobs from the Americans (which you should be upset since it also bring homelessnes), the American companies degrade the nature of these countries and eliminate the local bussiness. This causes the economy in these countries to suffer and people to leave their country. Unfortunaly one of the countries they come to is the US, the one who is exploiting theer country.

Now, why this countries does not stand up against the United States imperialism. Because they will be isolated like Cuba or bombarded like Iraq and we will be called terrorists. However the US is the one who is terrorizing these countries. You know for sure that most if the US budget goes to the military, it has enough to destroy the world.

Do you think that the US is a savior for liberating Iraq people from their government. The US will not move a finger unless is for economical benefit, the same thing happened during the second world war. The Holocaust was going on but the US did not do anything.

Now what does that have to do with "illegal" immigrants. Everything is interconnected and it has a cause and effect. Now, sure sned back all the undocumented immigrants home. Have the land of the free, free all these developing countries it has under its control. Have the US companies OUT of these countries. Let them grow their own economy and have the US grow on its own. Do you know that at the World Bank the other non- super power nations have nothing or little to say? and it is called World Bank.

Now in terms of homelessnes and "illegal" immigrants being accomodated. How dare would you mix up these two. Yes sir, you did. First of all "illegals" come to work in these country, not to beg you for your money. They work in everything you Americans don't want to work in. They employers seem to like that since there is not benefits neither a good salary for undocumented people, therefore they have to have to work in two or three jobs. Now they are not being accomodated as you think they are. They struggle to find a job, have a place to live, and trying to stay healthy since there is not medical insurance. Have you heard the accidents at work they have, but they cannot even denounce that. Despite all thede things they PAY TAXES but receive no benefits. Which is convenient for American to get money out of no where. They are being pay for what they work, unless you want to treat them like slaves, which I don't think you serve this country for that. They add to the budget of this country. The USA can use this money to help the homeless instead in a war that does nto make sense.

I work at a Woman's Shelter and encounter both,illegals and citizens.All of the women come from abusive relationships(or claim to) it is a mostly 50/50 ratio and all are treated the same at the shelter.I do have to admit that my loyalty is with citizens or legal aliens for the obvious reasons.We are a non profit organisation and even with a few Grants we never have enough resources..so yes i rather spend the resources for job training on a legal alien or US Citizen.Most illegals only stay a few weeks anyway.We are not allowed to report any illegal aliens(confidentiality issues but we do try to help them to become legal aliens most however dont want to go through the process.)Besides the fact that the job is sometimes extreme stress full(try to get 30 women with children to live together peacefully !) it is hard when we have to turn away US Citizens because every bed is filled with illegals.Lately we do see an increase in illegals around the time ICE is in town once ICE is gone a lot of the women dissapear again.

The politicians have demonstrated they do not care about the homeless. They place a higher emphasis on stuffing their pockets form those who use the cheap illegal labor. As usual the poor taxpayer foots the bill for the health care and essential services for the illegals while the corporations and large farm coops reap record profits from cheap labor. What we need to do is charge back all the cost to Mexico and cut the aid we give that country so they can stuff their pockets. The homeless need help but supporting slumlords is not the answer. Put people to work building public housing but wait you really can't do that because union jobs could be taken away. Somewhere the good of society must trump special interest groups.

The government is to blame for Homeless in this Country. We are taking Millions of dollars to blow the **** out of other Countries. Why is that money not being used to help the homeless. My heart goes out to anyone who does not have a home, and for it to be children that is sad, and yes that goes on in America should it NO! But i will not set and say that it is because of ILLEGALS, This is America there should be no starving children, or homeless of any kind. And all people are humans no matter what there race is. As are most of us, I am a person whos politicl views were shapes by my own experiences. I twice found myself homeless I phoenix (I moved there twice and my place to live evaporated) and once in michigan, I chose to live in my car than with my mother and sister who were committing welfare fraud (I turned them both in!).
I have seen with my own eyes the wasteland of the homeless, the evading looks and such. I have seen that many are mentally unstable. I have also seen a doctor in the homeless shelter because of drug addiction and criminals that are there because of their actions.

I would like to perhaps confiscate ALL homs purchased by illegals who snuck in (as opposed to those who are now illegal due to expiration of their residency status, but they purchased their property while legal), and raffle or lottery them to homeless or desperately poor people. I would like to only give the homeless that have no drug addiction or criminal past to participate.

Some people DESERVE where they are at. Others are there through little fault of there own. We must separate those two groups and help the latter.
As for the illegals, I wish them a swit journey home with what clothes they wear and what clothes they can carry!
