Evolution has been proven to be correct many times over, and yet there are some people who STILL don't believe it. Are these people just really stupid?

In the Bible, anyone reading it will see that there are two conflicting stories to creation. Genesis 1:25-27 states that humans were created after animals. Genesis 2:18-19 states that humans were created before animals. Creationism can't even support its own argument. So why do people still believe it?

It is easy to brainwash a poorly educated population. also that old adage, "Ignorance is Bliss" has a lot of truth to it. It is easier to have everything explained to you than to do the research yourself. Experimentation and observation (as in scientific study) requires too much work.

In a way, I envy them. they believe they have all the answers. We who are willing to study and explore never are fully satisfied. If one question is answered, a hundred more open up.

Ok, its not my style to call people stupid (like you) but if any belief is stupid it is evolution. Think about how stupid it is. So randomly one guy one day decided he knew how everything was made and how it was done... ya right. Plus evolution has not been proven. Try as you might, it never will. Plus there are SO many flaws. So many things disprove it. It wont matter to you though, no matter what I say you wont believe it. I have a personal relationship with God and can see His beauty in everything. I dont see how you cant see it. As for the whole Bible thing. You screwed it up. Get your facts right.
Gen. 1:20-25 - God creates birds, sea creatures, and animals
Gen. 1:26-27 - God creates man
You just killed your own argument. The Bible is perfect because it is God-breathed. Hopefully one day you will see this.

Dont worry though, in the future there will be some new theory. Just like the geo-centric theory and the theory that the earth was flat; these were taught in schools as the truth but were proven wrong. So I look forward to how scientists will try to explain creation in the future. Deep down everyone knows the truth, God. You just dont want to live up to Him and talk yourself out of it and deceive yourself.

Common sense says God makes more sense then it coming from nothing or 'evolving'

First off, evolution has NEVER been proved. Not one piece of evidence exists to stand on that side after it is truly studied. The funnier thing is that there biggest arguments for evolution don't even exist (missing links or the geographic table).

# 2, you are wrong. that is not a contradiction. Reread Genesis 2:18. Hebrew is written in a thematic way, like a,b,a, sometimes. This is usually used when talking about the work of God. God says HE WILL make a helper for Adam. In the next verse, verse 19, it says "Now the LORD God HAD formed...". This can't mean that God JUST FORMED them because "had" means before the current moment which is dealing with the creation of Adam. God HAD already made them and just brought before Adam for 2 reasons. 1) To name them and 2) to prove that no animal could take women's role as our (men's) suitable partner in life.

As you see there is no contridiction. I would also advise you to look back at some of the "proof" of evolution and see how faulty it is. Much love and God bless.

The Theory of Evolution remains just that, a theory. In spite of a mountain of evidence, there is nothing that proves the theory firmly and unquestionably. No "missing links" have been found.

The only other plan for the beginning of the Earth is recorded in the Bible. It makes sense, and it does not contradict itself.
Man was created after the animals, as stated in Genesis 1. Genesis 2 goes into more detail, adding information to the first chapter.

Evolution has never been proven"many times over"... that is why it is called a theory. If it had been proven it would be a fact... no reputable science would call it any thing but a theory...whether or not it is a valid enough theory to aid in proper scientific study... that may well be... BUT it will never be more than a theory... as it can not be proven...as it can not be "scientificaly" demonstrated by observation...

But it should not be dismissed in it's intirety... I am of the Christian Faith and I do believe there is enough evidence that the theory should not be dismissed regarding the animals and plant life... But that God placed man here, and man has not evolved, is a fact I know from God's Word to me in the truth of my Salvation... That is my Faith based on God's Word

here is a link to my pov on the subject ... which is a bit different thatn many of my Christian brothers and sisters.

That is not what that says. Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
us Gen 11:7

Here our spirits were made first in the image of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Which was made after the animals.

Genisis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Here again they are talking about male and female spirits.

Genesis 2: 7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Here God made Adam from the dust of the ground. This is a phsyical being.

Genesis 2:20-22 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
deep sleep Gen 15:12

22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

Here God made Adam fall into a deep sleep and took a rib from him and made Eve as a help mate for Adam.

There is a difference between just reading the bible and taking the time to study the bible. Take you time and don't rush it. Ask God to open the word of God to you, and He will. You may have to read the same line over several times before you fully understand it. That is why it is called studying. I hope this helped you. So in Genesis 1, our spirits were formed, and in Genesis 2 our bodies were formed and or spirits were put inside them.

God bless you.

We believe in creationism because those of us with intelligence realize that this world runs too perfectly for there not to be a mastermind working in the background. If there really is evolution, how on Earth does it negate the belief that there is a higher being? And no, I'm not a Christian, so whatever you quoted from the bible has little meaning to me.

Evolution... would NOT be a THEORY if it were proven....

hmmm.. as for Genesis 2:18-19... hmmm.. are you sure that God was creating the animals there? or was he just forming images, like a model, to ask what to name them? I do not have the answer... but I still have faith that someday I will KNOW the answer.

Faith Is Needed
Since it is not possible to scientifically demonstrate either evolution or special creation, faith is required to accept either teaching. But faith in the right thing is not wrong. The Bible says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6). "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). A British wit once described "evil lution" as "the substance of links hoped for, the evidence of fossils not seen." How right he was!
Broadly speaking, people fall into one of three categories:
Creationists: Those who believe that a supernatural Being (God) made the universe as recorded in Genesis chapter one. The Church of God International, along with millions of Bible-believing Christians and Jews, falls into this category.
Evolutionists: Those who believe that the universe came into existence billions of years ago and that life on earth evolved of its own accord by some inexplicable power. One does not have far to look to find many who hold this view.
Theistic Evolutionists: The theistic evolutionists attempt to integrate the two doctrines. However, the doctrines of creation and evolution are so strongly divergent that reconciliation is totally impossible. Theistic evolutionists believe that God was involved in the creation, but that He took thousands-perhaps millions or billions (do we hear "trillions"?)-of years to do so. Although many hold this view today, such syncretism reduces the message of the Bible to insignificance. The conclusion is inevitable: There is no biblical support for theistic evolution.
Does It Really Matter What One Believes Concerning the Origin of the Universe?
It matters a great deal what we believe concerning the origins of the universe and of life itself because if the universe and life on earth evolved over billions of years, then:
The Genesis account of creation and the hundreds of Bible verses that refer to the creation are pure fiction. In other words the so-called Holy Bible is, itself, riddled with the very thing it strictly forbids: lies, suppositions, and superstitions.
Virtually all the Old and New Testament writers were deluded-because they all believed in the creation. This would include all the prophets of old, all the apostles, and even Jesus Christ Himself.
If life on earth evolved of its own accord, it would mean that man is not accountable for his actions to a supernatural Being, and that we could make or break so-called "moral laws" with impunity. After all, "if there is no God, there cannot be a Judgment Day. So why bother about moral behavior: let us eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die."
In the final analysis, if evolution is true and the Bible is false, there would be no sin, since there would be no God, no Lawmaker, and no laws to break. It follows that, if there were no laws to break-and the Bible defines sin as "the transgression of the law" (1 John 3:4)-there would be no sin. If there is no sin, we would not need a Savior to redeem us from the penalty of breaking those laws (Romans 6:23) and Christ would have died in vain. In short, evolution is a complete denial of everything the Bible stands for.
These are the inevitable conclusions that will flow in the wake of a society that rejects the basic teaching that God created the universe. The matter of origins is very important because society's behavior and destination depend upon it. In his book, Evolution or Creation? (page 2), Henry M. Morris, Ph.D., confirms this point. He writes:
"Each person needs, more than anything, a sense of his own identity and personal goals, and this is impossible without some sense of his origin. What a person comes to believe about his origin will inevitably condition what he believes about his destiny."
Lenin is quoted as saying that religion is the opiate of the people, but the truth is that evolution is the opiate of the atheist!
YOU ARE WRONG GEN.2:19 ONLY STATES WHERE THE ANIMALS WERE MADE FROM, THEY WERE MADE FROM THE SAME PLACE ADAM WAS MADE FROM THE GROUND. IN NO WAY DOES IT IMPLY WHEN .GEN 1 25-27 TELLS US WHEN.

There is no evidence that proves Atheistic MacroEvolution (without Intelligent Design)...

I used to believe in Evolution. However, over a period of time I have grown skeptical of the claims of Macro*Evolution... this is largely due to the weakness of the evidence for Macro*Evolution, and the fact that the evidence, rationally interpreted does not support the overarching claims made by Macro*Evolutionists...

For scientific and intellectual critiques of evolution, see http://www.godsci.org/gsi/apol/evo/00.html .

--

I believe in a form of Creation (old-earth step-wise creation).

--
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

For scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm

The two creation accounts do not contradict each other. The second account is a zoom-version into a smaller section of the first account.

Cordially,
John

Because we choose to, just like you choose to believe in evolution. Evolution was never proven. That's why it is still called a theory. Many scientists and statistic experts have even said that evolution is impossible.
Either way we have this in common, neither one of us has seen proof of either. We are both taking somebody's word for it.
