I know you said you don't want to, but I do recommend consulting a vocal coach or speech therapist to learn ways to change how you breathe and project your voice to make it sound a little deeper and more resonant. They will teach you the correct form and give you practice techniques, and it will take time. If you try to force your voice to sound "thicker" you could damage your vocal cords and wind up with a weaker, hoarse vocal quality.

You might think about signing up for a voice-training coach. They can do amazing things with people's voices.

As far as the hormones are concerned, as long as you do not have any underlying medical conditions, chances are a doctor would give them to you even if you were over the age of 23.

You didn't mention your gender, but if male hormones are taken, while they will lower your voice, they also have several other side effects and if you are a female taking testosterone, you can develop a condition called PCOS (Polycyctic Ovarian Syndrome) that is quite nasty. If you are a male, you will essentially drop into a second puberty, complete with excessive sex drive and acne.

All things considered, a voice coach sounds pretty attractive, eh? Good luck darlin'!

Smoking does that. Damage to the vocal chords can result in voice changes. Chronic yelling to the point of losing your voice can result in permanent damage to your vocal chords. I wouldn't recommend taking growth hormones past 20ish, but only your doctor can really make that call. People stop growing at various ages, it depends on the individual. Some men don't stop until they are in their late 20s some stop in their teenage years. If you take them when you've stopped growing, you can damage your bones and generally won't grow taller but will grow wider, but not in a good way.

I think its funny.

Some men have squeaky, feminine voices. That might be socially unacceptable.

Hormones may be described in cases like this.

Like as in deeper sounding? if thats the case then if you don't want to sound to phony, just constrict your vocal cord so that they are kind of stiff to where your tonsils should be.
