You must still value him as a friend or something to have him still in your life. This is a very tricky situation for you because you now have to decide if what you're getting is worth the damage being cause; damage is your independence, and his emotions. Typically, we try to maintain friendships however, this does not work when one of the parties in the relationship is heartbroken. So, I'd settle my heart on what prices are being paid for this lingering "Friendship/ Boyfriend" and make a decisive decision: 1) Make him your friend and possible keep crushing the poor dude or 2) Complete severing of all relations
If this is not the case and you have no feeling for him, then make it crystal clear that you want him to stay away or you will have him arrested.

be straight up with him...tell him how it is...i might sound mean but u need to get ur point across so he really knows its over...and if that doesnt work ask ur friend to play a game and everytime he's around use ur friend as if he's ur boyfriend so he'll get the picture
