I'm clueless. His girlfriend got him a tattoo and he loved it. I just don't know what I could get him that would mean something. I can spend up to 50.00.

He already has a designated driver. I just want to know what I should get him as a gift. I don't just want to give him cash b/c he'll buy drugs with it. I want to get him something special and cool.

How about an instant scratchy tree? buy $40 worth of them and then tie them to a good luck plant costing $10 (ask the nursery) even if he doesn't win he'll still have the plant!

emphasize his new adulthood. Get him something tasteful and responsible, like stocks or mutual funds. (well, for $50 we might be talking government saving bonds, but it's a start!). If he's not sufficiently responsible such a gift (i.e., if he would just loose them, or cash in immediately to buy beer), just go straight for alcohol.
