There are wayyy too many Americans and Canadians and other Westerners stranded in Lebanon at the moment. Do you think our embassies are doing enough? What kinds of alternatives could they take to rescue our own people?

This was a situation that developed very fast. Lots of people are in need of rescue, but they are very isolated from evacuation resources. Beirut became such a fast target and all airports were decapitated in order to stop the flow of Iranian/Syrian arms support to Hezbollah. We cant have adequate evacuation standing by every nation where US citizens happen to be at all times, sometimes there is no magic bullet answer, but we are doing what we can.

If people hike in dangerous areas, and they have to be rescued, they have to pay the coasts. If you go to a country full of terrorists why do you think you can be rescued for nothing? I think they should pay their governments the costs incurred in rescuing them, and next time they go on vacation, stay in the safe zones.

I am annoyed by the fact that those people went there knowing the risks and are now demanding that people in the US military risk their lives in order to protect them from their own folly.
