So they can have a description of the person if they have to call the police; because that person was a psycho.
That could be one reason. But honestly it's out of respect for all parties involved. Why wouldn't a parent want to know who their child is dating?? That's just a given and common courtesy.
Peace Out.

My daughter and my son had to have their "first" date at our house, dinner and a movie or card game, whatever. We had to meet the people they were wanting to date----not just after they were dating them.
Our daughter wasn't allowed to date any guy until we met him first, got to know how he drove---My husband would just conveniently have a "Dairy Queen" urge and ask the "boyfriend" if he would drive. Always worked out pretty well.
If you are talking about when a relationship is getting serious and you are wanting to have your girlfriend or boyfriend introduced as a possible "new member" of the family, one of those dates is also a "first date", except for both families to meet. Either the boyfriend or the girlfriend can arrange for his/her parents to call the other parents and everyone meet and have dinner together. This gets all of the anxieties of both people out in one felled swoop! Those always worked our really well with our children.
What a great question!

Well, your parents should meet your significant other once you made the decision that the person is your boyfriend/girlfriend. Tell you parents about your significant other and let them know you'd like them to meet him/her. See if a dinner or something (meet at a restaurant) can be arranged.

I only introduce the guy to my parents if he is someone I can see sticking around for a while. Usually that would require a few months of casual dating followed by at least one or two months of being serious.

well this is a tricky question, before things get too serious, and after a couple of drinks no j/k. for some parents it's important that they meet the significant other right away, makes they feel more comfortable that your loved one is in good hands, but norm. is a couple months after your dating.

If you're a girl, the guy should meet your parents right away....a proper gentleman picks up a girl and meets her parents first date.......
If you're a guy, take the girl to the first major family holiday celebration......everyone can meet her at once.

Anytime. Parents can meet your friends when you first meet your friends. Parents know that friends can come and go Their advice may be beneficial to you since love is blind. Friendship should be shared, in my opinion.

It's truly up to how you feel personally.
For me, they meet my potential boyfriend as soon as possible. To me, if they are dating me, they have to meet my parents and my close family members. It something that is important to me.

Whenever the time feels right to you. :) Are you ready for him/her meeting them, and all that comes along with it? Is he/she? If you are, does it matter when? Then again, the sooner they do meet him/her, the better-off you are (safety!), and the happier your parents will be.
