I drive through back to back traffic every day (an hour and a half sometimes) to go to work, and I'd say I spend about $70 a week for a mid-size car.
I'd go for public transportation if it was available that far away, but it's not. I don't even go out much anymore because I am tired of the gas gage speedily going down to empty-----do you know what I mean?
What do you spend?
What would we do if we had to pay $5-6 for a gallon of gas!?!?!?

I'm on auto gas so between $20-$40/week will take me everywhere I need to go(6 cylinder vehicle). I was driving about 40minute to and from work but once prices began to rise I changed to a job that's only 10minutes away. The hours are less but not having to travel far, counters that problem. If the price ever made it to $5-$6 I recon most cars would be off the road. Then it would make it safer for travel by horse & since I already have one, Id end up doing the horse or horse and trap version of transport.

I have a compact car and I spend about 35/week so about $140 a month. I have considered public transportation but I would have to leave 21/2hrs early and get to work 1hr early. I have to be at work at 10:15pm and would have to leave the house at 7:30pm mon-fri and a little earlier on sat and sun. I have to ride 3 buses to and from work. If my car has trouble I ride but if my car is running I drive. Can't stand the long route.

It costs me $25 - $26 for a full tank and I drive a 98 civic. I do that 2 times a week driving to two jobs back and forth and my second job is 40 minutes away from where I live. I used to love to drive around, finding new roads, new towns but not anymore unfortunately.

From $500 to $700 a month depending. I started charging a surcharge for fuel when fuel went over $2 a gallon. I drive a tow truck.

If fuel goes to $5 or $6 a gallon my rates per mile will increase dramatically.

I am more concerned about what I pay in taxes. Taxes are silent because they are automatically taken from our income. If we had
to pay our income taxes like we pay for our gasoline, we would
be just as upset. Gas prices don't bother me. The difference
between $2 a gallon and $3 a gallon? So what. Take a closer
look at the amount of money being taken from your paycheck each week. I just think people are being irrational about gas prices. The media doesn't help with their "gas prices"
stories every night. That's just my two cents. I know
I will be lambasted.

About $60 per month. That's with a Prius. I got tired of visiting the gas pump twice a week. I figured out that a car is not a car if you can't aford to move it. I miss the comfort of the larger cars only.

I have to fill up once every two weeks. It costs me $45 on Super unleaded. It totally sucks, but I have made a committment that as soon as I can afford it, I will buy a more efficient car.

I feel that if I am ever in a position to do so, to buy a more efficient car and buy less fuel, it will help to lessen the price, and that in turn will help my fellow americans pay less for gas. I do it for you, America!
