Parents stand in the place of God for their children untill their children are old enough to seek wisdom from God on their own. Granted that is the best case scenario. Often today parents may not support their children as they should when their children want to learn more about religion and or God. If that is the case God must come first in my opinion.

God.
I believe God gave 10 Commandments with list of priorities.
That's why God put "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me." as the 1st commandment, first priority.
Then God commanded us to honor our parents, put it as the 5th commandment, "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."
So, if u had to choose...who would u choose to be much important to u....God or your parents? the answer is always "God".

God, the true God in the person of Jesus Christ always comes first. Don't be fooled as so many are. Learn with your head that he was and is real, then know it in your heart. Christ is always true and perfect; your parents aren't. If it comes down to God or parents, God trumps. It's not easy, I know. I've been there. But it's right.

God always comes first for me. When my parents are sick or worried about bills or cry for me because I got hurt really badly in an auto accident, I prayed to God to take care of my parents and he always has. I choose God.

God, because if he is first, then everything else falls into place. I would also hope my daughter would choose God over me. Example, I choose God over my husband and therefore we have a better relationship and I am a better wife because of it. :) In the instance you have mentioned, I am a better daughter because I put God first.

God Says He is #1. He also says love your neighbor as you love yourself, that would include your parents. A commandment is also specific about honoring your father and your mother. God expects us to love others. If you really love Him, that's part of doing His commands, that were written in priority. The 1st commandment is most important, and the 10th the least.

Cannot choose between the two, these things are separate I guess, both can be critical or important in a person's life. Both cover different aspects in life one way or the other.

Well, are you parents telling you to do things that are against what you believe your god would like you to do?
Chances are... before you die, you can repent and god has to accept you... for the time being... honor your parents.
