Sounds like a nice wedding idea. If you like camping go for it! :o) Have your wedding in a month were it won't be so muggy & hot.

I am having an outdoor wedding ceremony and indoor reception. I love camping so if someone I knew was getting married I would camp out for the night but I would not want to do a camping trip for my wedding.

I got married outside in a Botanical Garden, but I'll tell you what: no matter WHAT the weatherman says, you better have a tent or tents big enough to house ALL your guests, just in case! Also keep in mind things like tables, folding chairs, who's going to set it all up, and where people are going to use the bathroom (the house at the garden couldn't support my 150 guests, so we had to rent a couple porta-potties as well.) Also, it's gotta be a place with enough room to park, and appropriate places to park if it rains and gets muddy. I got married in the middle of a hot summer but the tent kept everybody nicely shaded, and even had room for the band setup and a small dance floor. Sometimes it's more expensive to have an outdoor wedding because of all the weather-related precautionary measures, but ours was wonderful. As for camping, I agree, make sure those who don't want to participate have hotel rooms! Anyway I can't emphasize enough, no matter how informal, make sure there's some kind of appropriate "shelter" in case of bad weather. Good luck!

I had an awesome outdoor wedding at the Botanical Gardens, and as a matter of fact we sure did go camping for our honeymoon. There is just something about nature, it was the coolest wedding and honeymoon, if you are a nature chick i highly recommend it

Mine was awesome. We got married in a gazeebo at a local park. make sure you have enough sun screen and bug spray.
Camping is cool, but I don't think its a really cool idea to have a camping event for a wedding, because no matter what, when you are married, who wants to spend the night with anyone other than the person they married.

I have yet to go to outdoor wedding that I have not been
rained on or died in heat or the wind blew 25 miles an hour or the bugs swarmed around us
All of these messed up my dress & hair & as a guest I hated them.

If that's what you want to do, go for it! I think that would be really cool!
Also give a list of nearby motels for those of us who don't care for camping.

No way, but I hate to be outside. I wouldn't camp if someone paid me.
