I was recently involved in an automobile accident. the driver in front of me ran over an inanimate object and it flew back and tore up the front and side end of my car. my insurance company said her insurance most likely wasnt going to pay b/c her car never touched mine so my insurance adjuster came out and did an estimate then notified me and told me to start the repairs and the check was in the mail on the hand the other insurance is going to pay 100% of the damages and said that my check will be mailed out so what am i suppose to do with both checks.

You will only get one check. your ins co will subrogate the other ins carrier for the amount of estimate.

Send your insurance company's check back! Why should they pay for something that someone else did to your car, albeit in a roundabout manner. You shouldn't run over crap in the road, period. Send your insurance company's check back, and hopefully they won't count it as a claim then.

Wait until you get the check in hand from the other insurance co. and then give your insurance co. check back to them because it's possible they will raise your insurance because they had to pay for your damage.

Wait and see if you get both. If you get the one from the other company, return the one from your company to your agent (or company if you don't have an agent). If you keep both and cash them, that's insurance fraud and it can have some serious consequences.

Talk to your agent. Your rates should not be impacted if you return the check. You weren't at fault.
