I think it's a fair question ...

Many try to wiggle out of the problem of children, mentally handicapped, or otherwise distant people who have never been capable of "knowing" Jesus by claiming those groups are not condemned to Hell for their ignorance.

1/3 of the world's population is Christian ... then two of every three children born will not be Christian ... they will not know Christ ... and they will not be saved.

So, by preventing three abortions, you condemn two souls to Hell for all eternity ... based on Christian doctrine.

You can also make this claim about those who do not know Christ already ... by attempting to spread the religion to other regions, you are in effect condemning all who become aware of the option of choosing Christ as their savior but do not conform ... rather than all of them being saved had you not made "the word" known to them.

In no way would I agree nor would I say that by having an abortion you are sending babies to heaven. A human is body and soul or spirit. A baby may be undeveloped and growing from the conception of sperm and egg but what people don't understand is that every human is given a created spirit that is created by God and inhabits your body. Each person if they reflect on it knows that there is life inside of them something special. Abortion, I feel, is against the will of God. There are things that happen in life that are hard to reconcile or explain but none the less have a meaning and purpose. To abort a baby is to stop the process of growth of this body but the spirit, created by God, is thrust out of the body against the will of God. Murder does the same thing. God certainly appoints a time for everyone to die but that doesn't mean that another human can't cause death before God's apointed time of death for that person. As for eternal state that is a question I will not make assumptions upon. I do feel that up to a certain point in life, a point in time where a person can make a rational decision about their eternal destiny that a forgiveness is given. Christian's who oppose abortion do so on many levels. For one they consider it a sin and therefore know that as time goes on the woman who had the abortion will one day or over time be tormented with that decision, in the future. Also they know that it is causing the death of a body that would have lived and caused a death ahead of the will of God's plan.

Sara,

You may receive many answers on this question, some good and some bad. However, you must do your own research. Life is what it is. Opposing abortion has nothing to do with heaven or hell, it has something to do with life. No one really understands life. When babies are created, we cannot see what is going on. All we know is that in 9 months, a baby will be born. IN MY OPINION, having a baby is the one time God gets to work closely with the mothers. Abortions are choices that people make. That let their daily circumstances and people, places, and things, aid them in their decision to abort. They really don't know how the outcome would be if they would not go through with it. That to me has a lot to do with faith. Life is only temporary anyway. No one is here forever.....but the Bible does say we do have to answer for murder......

People who believe your sentiment are worthless human beings seeking to justify Murder. Using that viewpoint then no one who murders, tortures or kills in any capacity is doing anything wrong.

Then Hitler was a good man, and heaven forbid that some maniac rapes and kills you - he must be doing you a favor. Not that you would go to heaven, but he may believe he is sending you to heaven.

Non the less -the legal system sees no wrong in murdering babies and they don't care if there is a heaven or hell or God. They will come Judgment day when they have to convince him that casual sex pregnancies are nothing and all these fetuses are, are useless pieces of meat.

That is not going to go over big with the Author of Life.

It depends on what you believe, really. If you believe that an aborted fetus has a soul, then something has to happen to that soul. If you believe that all souls from aborted fetuses go to heaven, then the answer to your question is yes in some instances. Some of the saved babies (not aborted) will still go to heaven, but likely some will go to hell (if you believe that). However, some Christians believe that babies, children, and people who haven't even heard of Christianity can still be sent to hell based on God's "perfect sovereignty." I, however, refuse to believe that God would send a child's soul to hell.

If you believe in chrisitianity, babies that die go directly to heaven, right? Some of us who don't believe in christianity, believe that abortion is just a cancelled trip for the soul who never left "heaven". I am sure there are other theories - let's try to stick with the positive and hopeful explanations since abortion is not going to stop (even if it is outlawed, I think).

Peace!

If Christians really are keeping those babies out of heaven by not aborting them, then perhaps they should kill every baby alive at the moment to let them go directly to heaven.

If you assume that all babies go to heaven then in a way your right. I pretty sure God would rather have people choose him then to just automatically usher them into heaven. I believe he probably does because of his mercy, but I would still think its better for people to have the opportunity to live and choose to follow him. Abortion is wrong anyway you look it. Killing babies is murder if its not necessary to save the mother's life.

No. This is an excuse to circumvent the real issue.

Christians oppose abortion because it is murder.

Christians don't go around shooting priests to speed up their meeting with the pearly gates, so this question really makes no sense.

Christians believe that only God has the right to give or take life.

You're pretty friggin stupid, arent you?

NO...

Opposing abortion opposes murdering a child. God says in the bible that He knows from the womb... A child goes to heaven when they are not yet at the age/developmental level to consent to his/her spiritual needs, or has accepted Christ... Yes, the aborted baby goes to heaven...but why abort it to begin with?

what the heck are you talking about? No, we christians who oppose abortion arent keeping babies from heaven, we are fighting for the lives of thousands of innocent babies.

babies who cant fight for themselves. They didnt ask for their parents to have sex or to be concieved into that situation, but because the adults made the mistake they will make the unborn child pay for it with his or her life......by going to an abortion clinic and murdering him or her.

Did you ever stop to think that by murdering these babies .....people are actually helping to destroy the plans God has for these little babies.....our children are our future......when you murder them off you are killing the our future.
