Don't listen to any of these answers. I am a vet tech. Shampooing any animal in HUMAN shampoo is not good for your pet's skin (they have a diff pH than us, not even baby shampoo is good for a pet). DON'T use a Sargent's product (especially on cats) as there is a lawsuit on their products regarding deaths of some animals. Items purchased over the counter (at Walmart and so forth) DO NOT WORK. Purchase the vet's brand. Frontline Spray is pricey, but works the fastest for results. A good flea shampoo (Mycodex) thru your vet is a good idea too. One person was right, apply the product and wait 2 days to apply or apply then wait 2 days to give a bath for best results. The spray starts working within 18 hours (one squirt per pound).
How long does FRONTLINE® take to work?
FRONTLINE® Plus must first spread in the oils of the skin over the pet's body. This process occurs in about 24 hours. You should start to see fleas fall off within the first 4 hours. It is safe to reapply Frontline after 2 weeks if it is bad, but not every two weeks all of the time. After the initial dose, regular monthly doses are recommended.
The product is applied at the nape of the back of the neck in between the shoulder blades. The products is secreted through glands that disperse it throughout your pets coat. The product gets onto the fleas legs (fleas don't need to bite to become infected), and then into their nervous system where they fleas become "crazy" and fall of.
Fleas live in the coat of your pet and result in severe irritation which can lead to constant itchiness, hair loss and even a debilitating skin allergy called Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD). Fleas also carry a tapeworm which can infect your pet. While the adult flea is much more visible, there is a hidden army of developing fleas waiting to infest your pet at the first opportunity. A single flea can lay as many as 40 eggs per day, which then fall off your pet on to carpets, wooden floors, bedding, grass or soil. These eggs hatch into a microscopic caterpillar-like creature called a larva. After a week of feeding, the larva spins a cocoon and changes into a pupa. This stage is highly adapted to many different climates. In winter, the pupa can hibernate and survive very low temperatures for at least 4 months.
The cycle of the flea from egg to adult is much shorter in spring due to the rise in temperature. This short cycle in conjunction with the large number of eggs which each female can lay, means an explosive flea problem in the spring/summer period. The flea problems most people see in summer can be prevented by treating their pets as soon as spring begins.
Remember, you must treat all cats and dogs in the household. While cats do not show the signs of flea burdens as much as dogs, they play a very significant role in maintaining household flea populations
YES< BOMB THE HOUSE TOO, and CAPSTAR is great if you have a serious problem. it's costly just for 1 pill, but 90% of the fleas will be gone within 24 hours (whoever gave that answer, you go girl!).
advantage does work good too, but has better results on cats than on dogs.

You need to spray your yard and de-flea your house too. New fleas are hatching and growing up all the time, and unless you do it all at once it's an uphill battle. Also, if the cats roam, they could be bringing fleas back with them. Frontline is not an instant flea fix, it does take a few days (or months depending on how bad the flea problem is) to work.
Get a flea comb. On each animal comb the fleas off. You can kill the fleas on the comb in a bowl of rubbing alcohol (wipe the comb dry so you don't comb it into the animals' fur). Spray all the carpets and upholstered furniture. Vacuum everything and throw the bags away outside. Spray the yard. In a month when you do frontline again, do the house and yard again.
We had a HUGE flea problem. It took 3 months of advantage and doing the yard and house before we saw no fleas. But we have been flea free for almost 10 years now, I only advantage the dogs 4 times a year for the last 5 years, they get combed and checked for fleas every week just to make sure.

Did you spray your house for fleas? The animals should have been bathed first with a flea shampoo, thoroughly dried then frontline applied. Go to the Home Depot and look for a spray you can apply yourself. Couple years ago we had flea infestation and the dogs had been frontlined, carpet and kids were the keepers of the pests as well as the dogs and their beds. I vacuumed, laundered and sprayed the fleas away. If that does not help then call a professional exterminator.

I have not had positive results from Frontline for my animals, so I tried Advantage and it worked right away! Also, your vet can give your dog a pill, ex. Capstar that starts killing adult fleas on the pet within 30 minutes. One dose lasts 24 hours. The pilll + the frontline should do the trick. Be forwarned on the way home from vet have a large towel under your dog because the fleas will start falling off everywhere! lol Good luck. :)

Give it a few more days and see what happens if you had a really bad infestation it might take a little longer to kill all of them.
Make sure the date is still good on the product...Did u get it fom your vet? Some web sites advertise frontline and its not the real macoy. :(
But dont put more on your pets!!!It could make them sick or even kill them...if the problem doesnt get better in a few more days you need to contact the place you got the product from.
Also you might need to spray your house to get the flea population under controle.

You still have to wait a whole month. Next time give them a bath, shave a small spot between the shoulders for the best results. In the mean time you'll have to deal with it. Frontline is an excellent product
Also if you haven't already you may want to consider spraying your house with flea spray as well

If you just used the Frontline 4 days ago your expecting too much too soon. It has to work on the life cycle of the fleas that means even the eggs as they hatch. There are probably eggs and nits in your home or yard but eventually it will take care of all of them. Be patient it will work. Don't bathe your dog yet.

I've never got frontline to work. We use Advantage in March of every year and we haven't had a flea on the cats or in the house since.

That's because fleas lay their eggs in the environment and these fleas have probably hatched from fleas that laid their eggs before you commenced your Frontline Plus treatment of your cat and dogs. If you persist with treating your pet with Frontline Plus, you will 'break' the cycle.
it don't actually kill the fleas until they bite. you need to treat your home as well and your yard here are some tips
lime for the yard. after you kill fleas and ticks with a yard killer sprinkle lime in the yard. they don't like lime. you can buy this at your local feed store or home and garden center.
put lavender in their beddings this repel's the fleas they don't like lavender.
put a flea collar in the cannister of your vacumn cleaner. when they are sucked up in the cannister the fleas will be killed.
