The answer to your question is actually rather unknown. Some say that cats purr because they are happy, in which case all that purring could be a good thing.
However, some people also think that cats might also purr to comfort themselves if they are feeling stressed, in which case your cat might actually be feeling stressed out and thats why its purring a lot.

A cat's purr can mean many different things. Sometimes cats purr out of contentment, and other times they purr when they are sick as a means of healing themselves or making themselve feel better. Purring is a medical mystery. Veterinarians still don't know to this day what exactly makes a cat purr.

A cat will purr to show that it is in a good mood, or that it is happy. That is their way of communicating their feeling to you. Some of them have loud purrs, and some of them are very soft. A mother cat will purr to her kittens to comfort them. It is a very good thing if your cat purrs a lot, keep up the good work.

It's a good sign! A cat purrs a lot simply because they are very excited or happy.
I have a cat that purrs once she sees me, whenever I am next to her (apart from when she is sleeping) or even when she is being playful (me provoking her to play or annoying her and she is excited of the game).
Congratulations if it purrs a lot, which means your cat is enjoying your home and happy being your pet.

I have had 14 cats over the last 10 years!
A purring kitty is a happy kitty, it means they are content and they are showing you love, even if they use their claws on you while snuggling on your lap.
My youngest kitty (Dizzi) is almost 4 now and she has the loudest purr I have heard, especially when it's bed time. She gets in the bed (under the sheets) and just purrs.
My Oldest kitty (Sniffie) is now 19 she has no purr left lol she just meow's but with no sound, she is deaf and going blind now too.

Purring it is a good sign !
Cats sometimes purr when stressed or in pain, but a purring kittens is content.
If your kitten kneads or drools you are really hitting the right spot !
Our 23 year old (Gnipper) still opens and closes her paws alternately while purring
