any religion that chooses to go door to door like salesmen to "sell" their religion strikes me as hinky. if your religion is so "odd" that you can't let it speak for itself and have to beg people to join.... something is not right there.
Personally i lived very close to SLC for 8 years and Mormons drove me nuts. only had one bad experience with Jehovah's so my vote is Mormons....but they both need to step back and realize that people don't want to have to listen to a car salesmen pitch concerning how they choose to practice worshiping.

The Jehova's Witnesses. I kind of empathize wth the Mormons because they're required to witness. When you tell Mormons no, they say thanks and leave. The Jehova's witnesses will not take "no" for an answer and shove a copy of the Watchtower in your hands.

I was a Mormon missionary for two years in South Africa and very few households I visited asked us to leave and appeared to me to be annoyed with us. Most individuals were very polite and I always tried to be polite myself. I have had visits from Jehovah's Witnesses missionaries and they, too, were always polite and I did not find them annoying. Perhaps I am more tolerant of people who possess convictions and seek to share such convictions with others in order to offer to the other parties a chance to espouse and adhere to a way of life in which the missionaries find happiness.

It is better to respect missionaries for their efforts rather than tear them down for having convictions and courage to share them. Better that the Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormon missionaries visit households and seek to share an uplifting message about Jesus Christ rather than have them instead be at a bar getting drunk, or out committing adultery with perhaps your spouse, or wasting time at a rave being tempted by drugs and immorality, etc., etc.

You are so funny kip...did one of Jehovah's Witnesses say something that you didn't like? It seems as if you have had it in for the Mormons for quite some time but now....hum.

By the way, did you ever get an answer to your question about religion and science coexisting?

Have a great night kip :)
Annoying enough?

Mormons, because apparently they know where I live and the JW's don't.

The Mormon missionaries always seem annoyed when I tell them that I am happy with my (non-practicing, but they don't need to know that) religion. When they ask about the advantages that I think that Catholicism has over their faith I usually note that "We have a Pope and you don't " that seems to do the trick.

And I do respect other religions - but they need to respect my "no soliciting" sign as well.

Jehovah's Witnesses. But I'm biased. I was a Mormon missionary. I found that J-Dubs really liked to have one-sided discussions about the scriptures. They wanted us to argue, but not intelligently.

As to Mormons and Jehovah's, they are massively distinctive, yet they do proportion one element in user-friendly: they're a non secular sect that prepare in accordance to heresies condemned with the aid of the Church that Jesus gave us to belong to, it is the only that has replace into generally happening in present day cases because of the fact the only, Holy, Apostolic, Roman and Catholic (from the Greek be conscious Katholikos, meaning common) Church. The specifics of each can somewhat be got here across on internet sites which you would be able to discover employing internet seek engines with each of their names yet one element is sparkling concerning to the Jehova's and that's that they suspect that guy can the two redeem and save himself on his very own and that Jesus replace into only yet another prophet, albeit the final and better of the prophets.

Why are either annoying? I'm a JW and I'd like you to consider for a moment what those of my same faith do and why we do it.

We take time out of our busy lives (and believe me, mine is pretty busy since I work full time) to come to your doors to try to share with you some hope for the future (cuz let's face it...the future looks pretty bleak!) and to help you look into the Bible if you're so inclined. When we do so, we get doors slammed in our faces and we endure rude comments by "Christians", muslims, athiests, and people of all of the additional faiths that are out there. Some are even violent toward us. And yet, we do what we do out of concern for your welfare and because Jesus told us to do so.

We also do it because its giving a "witness" to Satan. He said no one would be faithful to God...we're proving him wrong.

We're giving you the opportunity to learn what God requires of you if you want to live forever in the paradise he's promised us. If you don't want that, all you have to do is tell us. Is that so hard to do? And the reason we come back every so often is because people move around, people die, people's situations change, etc. Again, how much of an inconvenience is it to answer your door and politely say, "I'm not interested, but thank you anyway."?

I get along better with Mormon Missionaries. They aren't as pushy, and they seem to respect things I say.

Well, I've never met a mormon. However, once I was verbally attacked by a jw who couldn't accept that I was happy being Catholic. She got all mad because I wouldn't take a copy of her watchtower magazine.
