It's always much better to get them interested and liking you better if there is only one bird to start with...they LOVE interacting and being loved and coddled and shown affection. Do that by letting the bird come to your hand in it's cage...when it does give it a treat. After doing that several times, the bird will be very eager to come to you. Talk softly or sing it lullabyes like you would to put a baby to sleep...that creates trust and has a nice calming effect if the bird is not interested in you....if you can't get it to calm down, just stay by the cage and talk sweetly to it for long periods of time...they are very social and will look forward to seeing you. Once the bird loves and trusts you it will be so easy to play with and remove from the cage...make sure you have the wings cut so it cannot fly away! You can also put it on your shoulder while you are doing things around the house or watching tv...feed it treats while it's with you only. You should also be the only one to feed it and clean it's cage. They LOVE a clean NONsmelly cage too!
