Mathew 13:13 "You will be hated by all men for my name's sake, but he who endures to the end, the same will be saved."
Corinthians 1:25 "For God's foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God's weakness is stronger than human strength."
Corinthians 1:18 “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

In our society Christianity is looked on as "foolishness" and against the world's "wisdom". What can or how should we approach our unbelieving friends??

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding

How should we approach any person?
Most people have some thoughts about God.
I like to ask them what they think about God, then find out how much they know.
Jesus seemed to manage to meet people where they were, and they changed just by seeing what He was like. They changed either for the better or for the worse.

I always consider it a success if a person goes away thinking about God, or if I am able to help explain something they have been wondering about.

The fact that you are still talking to people who don't believe is a great start. But remember, sometimes it is the new people that we meet that have a great hunger.

I sometimes talk to one person for months, and they always come up with a new excuse. Then sometimes God has prepared the ground and I have the priviledge of seeing them grow in knowledge right before my eyes.

Kindness is never forgotten. By doing some of the little things that most people don't think about, we can be doing the work of Christ.

with love in our hearts and by setting a true christ like way of living. people that see you living you faith will respect your faith. it is those that think it should be forced on others or only pious on sundays and wednesdays are the biggest obstacle that christianity has today. we have allowed the world to mock us by behaving like god's salvation is a given and not earned. changing ourselves definitely changes others. as for the foolishness of others compared to the wisdom of god; well it probably does not mean anything to an unbeliever. what i have noticed is that most unbelievers cannot seem to let the issue go. maybe they are worried that there is something to this wonderful faith that we have and are looking for answers. always remember that all we can do is make the offer, live as we believe and let others make their own choices. god bless you.

You can't really generalize on how to approach someone just because they're all not believers. Different people will respond positively or negatively in similar situations. One thing we can always be sure we need to do is to imitate Christ. The Bible's main message through the Old and New Testament is to help those in need. We need to be available to move furniture, be a friend, paint a room, feed the hungry, clothe the poor, etc. If we can't be faithful in this, no one will see who Christ is through us.
Hebrews 6:9-12 " 9Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are confident of better things in your case—things that accompany salvation. 10God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. 11We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. 12We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised."

Just do it. Do it. Do it. Do it. Cuz when you do, you are being faithful. Understand that some will not accept what you have to say. But maybe it'll take 15 times until they do, and you're number12. Three more times and they're saved. We don't save people, God does. We're just supposed to give the message.

In response to your question, what do you think of this:...Christians are very well trained in spiritual things and know what to expect, so I'm in agreement with GOD"S WORD which say: "Enter ye at the strait gate, for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and MANY there be which go in there at: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto LIFE, And FEW There Be That Find It" (Matt. 7: 13, 14)......In response to your second question concerning approaching the unbelieving: There are unbelievers who seek after the "Spiritual Truth", (Matt. 7: 7).....And also, GOD will Lead believers to those who Want the LORD just like He did with Phillip the Evangelists to the Book of Acts!......Remember, GOD KNOWS MAN'S HEART!....Christians Follow He Lead! (Roman 8: 14)........ps. those who are serious about knowing & serving GOD are coming in!..........

Ok. So I am not a Christian but I am going to answer anyways. It means that because you are a Christian there will be people in this world that will hate you and bash you. You can see it here on this site all the time. However, if you think back to the bible and do what Jesus did when people bashed him and hated him I don't think there will be half the arguments on here as there are now. When people threw dirt and stones and spat on Jesus did he turn around and start to argue or persecute them? No. He ignored them and went on his way. Your God will be there to support you through it all but you have to lean on him. Do they make you mad when they say stuff? Sure they do. But what does it accomplish to sit there and fight with them. They continue to bash you because they know it will get to you and make you say things you will regret or act unchristian like.

All I can say is don't ever let anybody put foolish things in your mind to make you not believe in God always believe, it might be a little tough at times especially with friends who don't believe but spread the word to them once in a while don't force it down their throat and their will come a day they will believe in God , God has a certain time for all of us to believe. God is always with us especially before we are born.Pray for your friends. I most certainly will.

Remember what the Bible says happened in Noah's day. they mocked him and made fun. But Noah and his family kept on building the ark and preaching to the people and living the way God had said for them to live. That's what we have to do, sometimes we are the only Bible some people read. We need to first of all LIVE what we PREACH and tell people about Jesus but don't beat 'em down to do it. IF we are living right and doing all we know to do and go by our roadmap the BIBLE then our unbelieving friends will come to us and say I want what you have!

God in his infinite wisdom chose to give us free will knowing some would choose the wrong way.
If god can do that, why can't other humans.
We all have choses to make. Read the bible and use it to help you to make the right choses. Hard enough to change your own self let alone try to change someone else.
