maybe a 3-7 days. it helps if you drink things like protein shakes or slim shakes or some kind of shake to get vitamins you need and still feel food. this can make you go for a while without eating.

Hypothetically, a fit person can go for up to two weeks without food. But that's an otherwise very healthy person degrading to near-death. That's not good.
When my wisdom teeth got really nasty with me, I had a similar problem. I could barely open my mouth, and solid food was out of the question. So I had to go on a mostly liquid diet. It was oatmeal and protein shakes for four days, but it got the job done. As for brushing, my only advice would be to try and avoid that tooth, then follow up with mouthwash if you can stand the sting.

There are things at the drug store for tooth pain. Eat baby food or yogurt. Avoid temperature extremes.
You can go a few days without eating. But remember to drink, especially in this heat.
Good luck

Someone else just asked this. Remember the Rule of Three:
3 weeks without food.
3 days without water.
3 minutes without air.
If you're afraid you're not getting the nutrition you need, drinks like Slim Fast, Ensure, etc., will fill you up and keep you going. Drink them at room temperature or *slightly* warmed, because the cold will cause you more tooth pain than you have already.

As long as you drink water, you can go at least a week without eating. But I wouldn't recommend it. Clove oil could help numb the pain, but it doesn't last very long--you have to keep re-applying it.
Tooth aches are horrible. Try to drink something like V8 or carrot juice--something with calories that's not so likely to aggravate your tooth.
Good luck.

when you go without eating your body goes into starvation mode. Everything slows down. That is why people who try to not eat to lose weight find that it does not work (in the end). You need nutrients to burn calories along with exercise and water. Eat soft foods until you see the dentist, maybe you can get in earlier. Good Luck

The body can sustain itself for a several days with no food. However, the body can not survive without water. Drink plenty of water, teas and juices. You can try broths or soups if you can handle it, but it's not necessary. Your body won't starve before Thursday. All the best with your appointment.

Most people can go for weeks without eating. Can you at least drink some juice? Also, until you can get to the dentist, anbesol might help with the pain.

Definitely get something to numb the pain...maybe the Dentist will give you enough of something until your appt. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids- the last thing you need is to get dehydrated. What about soft foods , mashed potatos, scrambled eggs, soup or broth...you need to try and eat something.
