Okay I took photos using the flash on my camera, in a well lit centre, and I didn't realise that was a bad idea .. So I've got my photos back, and the flash and lights in this place must have cancelled each other out or something, because my photos have come out really badly lit and I can't see much .. Is there any way to fix this? Like, could a really good photo restorer fix it, or is it not possible to fix them?

Thanks everyone for answering. :) It was just a disposable camera, so I don't have it anymore. I'm going to download a photo editor, a free one I found. Not sure how good it is etc, but I got them to put my photos on CD, and hopefully I might be able to fix them with that. Thanks a lot. :)

It depends on how underexposed the images are. You can only lighten an image so much before you start producing areas with high grain (or digital noise). Email me a photo and I'll look at it for you. If it can be fixed... I can do it.

In my opinion light does not cancel itself out. The camera setting may be wrong depending on the camera and if it was in manual mode. Some older cameras had a specific exposure such as 1/50 or 1/60 sec. that the flash will be triggered in sync with the shutter. The well lit center may not have been as well lit as it should be and your subjects may have been too far away for your flash to reach. Also the film speed setting on the camera may not have corresponded with the film ASA. There is some hope for a processor to adjust for under exposure, you will have to ask them. Try a few different quality photo/camera stores for opinions. Bring your camera and flash along with your pics for an expert opinion.

Check your negatives and see how they look. Some photofinishers print better pictures than others. Depending on how over/under exposed the negatives area, you may be able to take it to another printer and get a better print made.

I think Photo Shop would work. I've lightened many photos that came out too dark.

Good luck!
