There are ways to do it, a lot depends on her. If you were Mexican, it would be a snap. I think the latest law says you have to marry in the USA, and then you have to stay married to her for 2 years and 2 days, without her saying otherwise. and by that I mean if she says you left her but didn't file for divorce, then you are screwed. So check out the latest regulations before you make the jump. What's wrong with the girls there in BC? The ones I see on TV are HOT!!.. Good luck, Ron

Listen, if you girl is a US citizen you won't have to much to worry about, you can come to US with a K (fiance) visa, and once you are here you have 3 months to get married and then apply for the Green Card, which should take about a year or even less to get it in your hands, or you can marry her in UK and then she can petition for you. (If I were you I would try the first option). Immigration procedures often take a long time but not when a immediate relative is petitioning you, like your wife in your case or parents if you were a minor. good luck!

it's a pretty complicated process...especially since the whole 9/11 occurance. back in the 40's it took my grandpa around 6 months to get my grandma from holland over here. and it's much harder now (i know from experience). don't listen to the others that said "stay out of my country". they are most likely the grandsons and daughters of immigrants themselves. it'll take some time, but it will be done. goodluck to you and your gf!

How complicated does it seem? I'm not too familiar with citizenship and things like that, but I'm sure you could find someone to ask about it.

Yes, it really is as hard as it seems. Unless you offer some special skill and can document that fact, it'll probably take 10 years - unless you win one of the lottery positions.

Yes. Legal immigration to the US is fairly complicated, time-consuming and expensive. Only you can decide if it's worth it.

If it seems complicated, just hire an INS lawyer.
