There is a homeopathic pill called Rhus Toxicodendron that really does heal the skin and irritation. It is sold in health food stores and some family drug stores, but I don't see it in local chain stores. It is small bead pills that you can not touch.
Additional products as you have mentioned do comfort the symptoms. Just so you know, Caladryl has been a weak product compared to benadryl or hydrocortizone creams. Aveeno oatmeal baths are great for a soak. There is a product called Ivy Dry that you apply with cotton to the raised areas. It dries the areas that are affected quickly and reduce discomfort.
Good luck!

maximum folk discover that cool compresses in a unmarried style or yet another are somewhat soothing. try using a towel or wash fabric soaked in both undemanding tap water or Burow's answer (an astringent answer -- you are able to make it your self using Domeboro pills or powder packets accessible over the counter). this may help relieve the bright itching and get rid of dry crust that has formed for that reason of the rash. A fan blowing over the cool compress will decrease somewhat some the warmth of the itching and help to dry up somewhat some the ooze coming from the rash. because the floor is cooling, the blood vessels compress and that cuts down on the itching and the recent ooze. it really is amazingly sturdy throughout the time of both or 3 worst days of the rash. alongside an similar strains, some dermatologists propose rubbing an ice dice gently over the rash countless circumstances an afternoon, then letting the floor air dry. Soaking in a bathtub, really using an oatmeal bathtub which includes Aveeno, is also very soothing to the itch. be particular the bathtub is cool or lukewarm -- yet not warm -- as warmth has a tendency to make the rash even more suitable infected. After the cooling (using any of the varieties suggested above) coat the rash with a shake lotion which includes calamine. This maintains to alleviate the itching and helps to dry up the blisters. be particular to envision the expiration date on an previous calamine bottle on your drugs cupboard, because it ought to not be useful after the expiration date. be particular the shake lotion does not include benzocaine, zirconium, or a topical antihistamine, which includes benadryl. those can easily make the rash worse by skill of generating their own allergies even as utilized to already tender epidermis. Smearing on hydrocortisone (as your boyfriend has executed), or different topical corticosteroids, may actually help suppress the itching and provides you non everlasting alleviation, yet does little to hasten the drying up of the rash. further, taking an oral antihistamine, which includes benadryl, can help with the itching a lot, even inspite of the actuality that it does not p.c. up decision of the rash. Taking benadryl at nighttime will make maximum folk drowsy and help them sleep via the nighttime with out itching. lower back, do not use benadryl cream or spray topically, because this may reason its own reaction

The Caladryl pink stuff help me alot. I had it under my chin and on my upper leg near the panty line. Talk about going crazy! You may even want to buy benadryl and take it. It will help you sleep too and the crazy itch will subside. But if you are like me, you can not sleep as much as that stuff makes you want to sleep. The Caladryl in the pink did wonders for me. Good luck.

I know this might be old fashioned but In my childhood days I can remember getting into a tub of warm water with Epsom salt and soaking. 1cup. Then when you get out, dry off and apply calamine lotion all over. This worked wonders for me......

NO BLEACH Hot compress every 15 min. hot as you can stand it will tone down the itch, calamine with phenol is good. If it's real bad see the doc, he'll probably give you benadryl and prednasone.
