Should there be fines and legal penalties for knowingly aiding and abetting illegal aliens attempting to circumnavigate immigration and employment laws, and other relevant aspects of state and federal law? We, as citizens, are expected to abide by, and live within the law, how are illegal aliens from ANYWHERE somehow magically exempt from this? Is there a disconnect in our own government somehow as to what 'legal' means, are we back to defining 'is'?

I think that it should depend on exactly what that person does to "aid and abet." Also, this should be something which is embodied in written law when the whole great immigration debate is decided, but, some things would probably require misdemeanor labels, and others felonies. Not all crimes should be treated alike for simply falling into the same general category.

If knowingly yes. But how are you supposed to know? Even if you do know and report the person to the INS nothing will happen. The bottom line is there is NO enforcement from information that is received from the public. Nor is there any response from the INS if an employer reports an employee that has shown to be illegal. I am an employer and have tried. They don't give a rats a**. So stop blaming the employer. Blame the Government department that is responsible. The one you pay your taxes to.

Felony! It's time for Americans to get serious about this issue, and stop allowing illegals to take over our country. If you're here in this country illegally, I want the book thrown at you. If you're an American knowingly helping an illegal, I want an encyclopedia thrown at you. It has come to a point when we have to say enough is enough, and refuse to take this crap anymore.

As a citizen and you aid a felon it makes you a felon... why should there be any difference if you are breaking the law, your breaking the law. That's all there is to it. As far as I know, if you use false identification in breaking the law your automatically a felon. I think they should go to jail for assisting illegals and be deported just as well, if they are from the same country.

Anyone who uses aiding and abetting helping illegals should be considered a traitor and have there citizenship revoked and then deported with the people they helped.

Tell me, what is the "legal" punishment for treason?
This is what giving aiding & abetting these particular criminals amounts to. High treason. The co-conspirators should be punished to the full extent of the "Law"

I guess if you were aiding and abetting while smoking weed that would be a felony right?

I hope those in Government have to depend on help from the law someday and they don't get it.

They would have been lynched already if most people didn't obey the Law now.
