1. If you have both programs, use Works to 'Save As' and save as an RTF (Rich Text Format) document. Open in Word and 'Save As' a Word '.doc' format.
2. If you only have Word, first try to open the file directly and if it opens, save as a .doc file. If it doesn't open, try to 'Insert -> file' into an open blank Word page.
3. If you have a Mac, try opening the Works file with Pages, and if it opens, go to File-> Export, and save as a Word .doc file.
4. If nothing works, change the Works file's extension to .txt and open the file with TexEdit or your text editing program such as BBedit. You will get lots of junk, but the text part can be copied out. Paste that into the blank Word page.
;-D Aren't computers fun? They always try to win, but you can beat them if you keep trying!

Yes, Misrosoft pretty much has screwed everybody!!!
Well, we run Open Office and that translates, then exports, in most filetypes, when we hit the SAVE function, we select the filesystem
type we want.
http://openoffice.org and, you can also get the commercial Star Office, from http://sun.com that has full support, that you'll really like, if you are a business.
Also free as part of http://pclinuxos.com live CDrom.
