i started a basketball camp yesterday and we practice for 6 hours with some breaks inbetween and i started to get sore around my thighs and now its kinda tight in my shoulders and the worst pain is in my left knee. it feels like a pin goes into my knee evertime i bend it. i dont necessarily want it to stop cuz i kno thts probably impossible by tomorrow (we're doing conditioning), i just want the pain to ease up and not hurt everytime i stand up

Ibuprofen 600-800 mg every 6 hours fi there are no reasons that you can't take it. (allergies, bleeding problems, etc)

ICE it tonight..... heat tomorrow. keep it elevated and keep bending it so it doesn't get stiff.

Wow, sounds like your knee is overstrained. I had that problem too. Here's what I did to correct the problem, you might wanna try it:
1) for your knees, start taking glucosamine chondritin to improve the joint. If your knee hurts, you might wanna take glucosamine with MSM which is a natural pain killer of sort. Get a trainer and start strengthening the muscles around the knee for better support
2) for aching muscles, take pynogenol, a powerful antioxidant that helps release the lactic acid build up from excessive sports. Whenever I get all sore from my workouts, 2 tablets of pynogenol helps me to recover by the next day.
3) try going for a sports massage too, to get the blood circulating and the tense muscles eased.

Good luck

There is a natural product called Arnica which you rub on sore muscles, bruises, and sprains. It helps with pain and makes things heal faster. I recommend going to a health food store and asking for something with arnica in it.

The knee I would tell your coach about. It is very easy to tear a ligament or tendon in your knee if you aren't careful...and these take surgery and up to a year to heal. So...don't be brave before you are safe. Be good to your knees...they have to ask you a lifetime!

The best thing to help it is to stretch and this is probably new if u havent practiced in a while, ur body should get used to it after a few days.
