As a hair styilist, I can think of a few ways to help your hair but it never really grows a whole lot faster than it already is. Most important is to not grow out damaged hair. If your hair is damaged and you are trying to grow it, it will just keep breaking, you have to get rid of the damaged stuff first, so cut as much as you can off. Then, try the following:
First, try a shampoo like NIOXIN which is for thinning hair. If you are around a Sally Beauty Supply they have a knockoff at a much cheaper price.
Second, DO NOT BRUSH YOUR HAIR WHEN WET!!! And do not brush your hair too much.. that 100 strokes a day thing is a myth, it causes hair to break off - especially if it is damaged.
Third, Do not color your hair, this will add damage to it. If you are going to have it colored, do it professionally so they can insure that they are not damaging your ends.
Fourth, Blowdry, curl, and straighten as little as possible. If you feel you must, use a leave in conditioner first and a heat protecting styler next.
Fifth, use a leave in conditioner with sunscreen.
Sixth, never pull your wet hair into a ponytail, and never wrap your ponytail too tight, this causes hair to break.
Get it trimmed (1/8 - 1/4 inch) every 6 to 8 weeks.

wash weekly
dont brush too often, it brings split ends
wash hair in hot water (the heat opens follicles and lets the nutrients sit in)
clip ends when needed
keep oiled but not too much
after washing air drying is good because your not suppose to have too much heat on your hair, so try not to curl too often or flat iron or hot comb
-thats all i can thin of and my hair growns fast and soft (for a black girl)
