He likes my husband and the other cat Rocco, but he doesn't seem to like me. He doesn't let me pet him or pick him up, even though I am really nice to him and obviously feed him and take care of him. He purrs around Rocco and my husband but won't go near me...what did I ever do and what can I do to make him like me?

You need to spend time alone with the kitty. Get a feathery toy on a string and play or roll up a ball of aluminum foil and toss it around the kitchen floor. Buy some cat treats and let yourself be the only one who is allowed to give them to the kitty. Don't try any sudden moves on a cat. Whatever you do, do it slowly like moving near it or trying to pet it. Let it sniff your fingers before trying to pet it. I have had a lot of kitties and I tell ya they like being rubbed under their neck and behind the ears. Hope this will help you!

Observe what they do when the kitten is around them. Or else just give it a treat every time that it comes near you. Or just sit next to it and meow a bit, just be one of the cats.

I had a cat named Ribbon. He love me, and tolerated my mother. The only time he showed her any kind of affection was when he was hungry.
Ribbon slept with me in bed and watched my mom very carefully as she would check up on me and pull the blankets up around me.
Ribbon died from distemper, but not until he gave my several years of fun, comfort and pleasure all the while, snubbing my mom threw it all.
Cats pick you...you do not pick the cat.

Off your Husband and the kitten will have no choice but to like you! LOL

He will eventually come around. Show more attention to him. Talk to him in a hi squeaky voice try making a funny noise to get his attention.

Wow, cats are finicky creatures, irritating isn't it? I would buy some canned food, then feed him the treat while the two of you are alone. While he's eating stroke him gently, talk to him, spend some time with him. Soon he'll begin associating you with good things and TLC.

You must have perfume on or something. Cats choose who THEY like. Stop picking it up and giving it attention and it will come to you.

Rub your hands in cat-nip for a week or two before you handle him. Condition him to like you.

Maybe get a piece of cloth that smells like you, and put it where he likes to sleep. Also if he likes tuna hand feed him some of that.
