I don't know how old you are, but dressing like a "slut" is never
a good option for a lady...however depending on the climate, such
as if it is a very hot day and you may choose to wear a pair of shorts, a tank top ...and have a nice figure...you may be labeled dressing like a slut. All too often today the fad is to "underdress"
You may find you get more respect when you give more...and will have more freedom of choice too in the long run when you prove your decisions are responsible ones.. Best Wishes...
PS There's plenty of time for you to set your own
guidelines later in life...your parents are only trying to instill good
morals now, so later in life your decisions will reflect your morality ..your choice of clothing reflects the impression you want to give others..what message do you really want to give others ..and why?

well sweetheart, try to understand it fromt here piont of view, but i know that doesnt work. lol. been there tried that bull, but for real, maybe take it down a notch, you dont have to wear a cute shirt like tube or tankwith a mini, do it with jeans, and mini's with tees for a lil while and your parent will get more use to the way you look, then you can step it up a notch and throw in more stff you like

either that or you cna always wear a diff shirt underneath, or if your as bad as my throw the shirt in your purse and change in someones car.

lol hope this helps and good luck hun

>K<

If your parents think you dress like a slut you probably do. Try dressing like a decent person. You will find you attract a lot more attention and also you will see it will be the right kind of attention. Girls that dress like sluts get attention but not the kind anyone would want. They should see the people that laugh at them. Just because people stare they are not usually admiring stares. People also look at clowns. Treat your parents with the respect they deserve and dress like a person they will be proud of.

Well, the obvious answer would be to not dress like one, but you should dress appropriately according to your age and the situation, you wouldn't wear a miniskirt to a funeral would you? But overall, ask your parents what can be done to not make them think that. What is key is that you should still maintain your own personal style, but sweetie, there is a difference between sexy and skanky. It may be alright to showcase a little cleavage or a little leg, but save something to the imagination, there is more to you than your body, you have a brain- use it!

If your dress gets a lot of attention from men, young or old, it's probably true. Sometimes, young women want to look like video stars and don't realize that the video culture is not reality. Those women are often selling their bodies and when you imitate them boys and men think you are sexually available. You may not get as much attention, but you'll get more respect if you cover yourself in some form fitting clothes.

i had the same problem...

what i did was keep dressing like a slut and having huge arguments with my mother constantly DON'T DO THAT

what you should do is keep your slutty clothes inside your backpack and leave for school or gym or whatever dressing like the good girl your parents think you are. halfway there, change clothes. it takes work, but i wished i had done that and i would have saved myself a lot of grief, i'll tell you

dont dress like a $lut then... if you really arent and they just arent used to what girls wear these days, then just ignore it. if they are annoyed but dont tell you you cant wear it, then do it anyways... they will have to get over it.

Look at your clothes and ask yourself what kind of statement you're trying to make. If you're trying to be sexy or grown up or get guys to look at you, chances are, your parents are right. Sexy is an attitude, not an outfit. Slutty clothes simply say "Don't put forth an effort to get to know me or respect me, because I'll give it up regardless."
