I asked my mom if she would like to take a look at my e-mail telling me that i can send in my ideas for my VERY OWN T.V. SHOW and she told me that they wouldn't want an idea from me because i live in a small city, if i lived in a big city it would be different. Is this a sign that my mom thinks my dreams are stupid?

No, it is a sign that your mother does not want you to get your hopes up about it. Sometimes, parents have a way of crushing our dreams while trying to act in what they believe is in our best interest. If you want to submit an idea, go for it. The worst that can happen is they say "no, thanks" and you are right back where you started. Good luck to you.

You ideas possibly could be very good but that's not how they get ideas for TV shows. It doesn't have anything to do with where you live.....it has to do with you needing an agent. Dreams are never stupid, if dreams were stupid there would be no creativity in the world. Dream your dreams while you get your education, take as many English and Writing courses as you can and one day maybe one of your dreams will buy your Mother a new house.

I doubt if your mom meant that your dreams are stupid, the problem or the asset to you is mom knows a little bit about scams. You can push your ideas for TV show, or any other talent you might have, just remember anyone or agencies that tells you, you need to put hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars up front for pictures or promotion its a scam. They will seem ligate but it's a scam. If they are interested they will put the money up not you, you might have to net work but remember to trust mom, and any other adult family member you have respect for because I guarantee they will look out for your best interest and anyone else will be looking out for their best interest. Good luck and don't give up your dreams, make them happen, but keep your hand on your money while you do.

Well a lot of stars were in little cities when they were discovered take Leanne Rimes for an example. Also no your mom doesn't think your idea is stupid because I think that she is worried that you might get turned down and your feelings get hurt. Mom's always worry. I hope to see your show get aired on t.v. Good Luck!!

Ask her what does she mean. She doesn't think your dreams are stupid but she has a reason for saying the stuff about the small city. Find out what it is.

It's a sign that your mother's dreams were bashed against the rocks of life, and now she doesn't want to see you hurt that way too. That being said, she is wrong. Always try to reach for your dreams.

they probably dont care where you live! as long as the idea is good, they will want it! maybe your mom is just trying to discourage you. she may have a good reason to do so so I suggest asking her what she thinks about it. good luck with the show...

No. She probably doesn't want you to get your hopes up because there are a lot of people who want the same thing. Don't get your feelings hurt.
