Not at all. I was a "nerd" and really never got into trouble. My two kids, one boy, one girl, both were headstrong teens, got into some drugs, drove me out of my mind. They are in their mid 20's now, and both turned out fine, but I had a really hard time relating to them during their teens because they were so unlike me.

My kids are past their teens but yea I saw some of the things I did as a kid
I was always studious, got good grades, etc. But secretly I wanted to tell people to screw off, I didn't want to study, I wanted to be carefree to a fault.
My older son was like I was, he is now an attorney
My younger son acted like I always wanted to, gave me gray hairs, ulcers, I knew policemen on a firstname basis, after six years of thast crap he "settled down" and is now a straight A student in his Jr year at college.
Hang on for the ride

No! This day and age children grow up quicker, there is alot more available out there and alot more is expected of teens these day due to society.Children are exposed to a variety of different issues that were classed as " not talked about " when i was younger. As it was i grew up in the country and we were more laid back and probably behind the times so one might say.

My kids aren't teenagers anymore so I can give you a slightly different perspective. As teens they were nothing like me and my husband. We had been the "good" kids of our respective families. Our kids did seem to resemble some of their aunts and uncles though. Now that they're in their late 20s they remind us much more of ourselves.
Interesting - I guess that's the reward you get for not killing them when they're teenagers - that and grandchildren.

Yes, i worry about my oldest son all the time. Me and his father both were very wild when we were he age. We also were very hard headed. Now(since we are both almost 40 ) we are better. I hope he will change his ways sooner.
