Throwing food away is definately worse. I always try to save leftovers. I just think, what a waste! And it's not just that someone else could have eaten it, it's also that it's very likely some poor soul worked hard for little money to produce the food for me, and then I just tossed it. Eating "too much" (I think you mean overeating) is a problem that can be overcome with therapy.

You`re eating too much will not help the starving people in Africa, nor will throwing away food. Why don`t you just take what you can eat?

Definitely throwing away lots of food knowing there are people starving in places like Africa and South America. I can't stand to watch the commercials on tv...they make me cry.

Eating too much. It will make you feel sick and bloated.

Throwing it away will be good for you as you'll have to exert yourself to make your way to the basket and dump the leftovers. As for starving people here there and everywhere? Do yourself a favor and worry more about the issues of Native Americans and the homeless right here in the US. No one ever lends us a hand, so I say toss that soggy meatloaf in the trash and write a check to your favorite US charity instead.

I live in asia. Here in Asia, to throw away left-over food is like throwing away your next two meals. Every morsel of rice here is precious. Asians would rather that you eat up all that is served to you than throw away whatever is left. Also, it is very common to keep leftovers for later. Nothing is wasted.

So I say, throwing away is worse.

Eating to much is dangerous to your health, and why throw away the food? Put it in a dish with a cover and either friderate the left overs, freeze them or send them to a neighbor or friend.

Agree that leftovers should be saved. I hate to waste anything, but unless you can figure out a way to get that food to starving people, best to throw it out rather than overeat. Or, if you garden, try composting.

Boy that's a loaded question. In my opinion only order or prepare what you can eat. Donate money if you feel the need to help others or help serve or bring food to a local shelter. I don;t want to sound mean but we need to start helping our local people these other countries aren't helping uis lower our cost on gas are they?
