if ur really really really depressed for 1 year and ur not gonna commit suicide can u call a suicide hotline?

Yes. Their goal is to stop people from committing suicide. Happy people rarely commit suicide. Depressed people do. They will offer you tips and resources to help alleviate your depression. Call them. They'd be happy to help.

I was depressed about half a year and was thinking that I would commit suicide and I did call the suicide hotline, it sure did help me to get over the depressed feelings. Taking care of my Mom(who has Alzheimer's Disease), and my boyfriend, and didn't have time for myself. I think that you can call suicide hotline, and they will be able to help those who need it.

You can, but you shouldn't unless you are thinking about it. Those folks are trained to take suicide serious, you might find yourself in a mental ward. If you are depressed, there are ways of fixing that. I can't give any advice because I don't know what's up with you, but there are things you can do, like be on this board and answer a few questions to help people, or go to other sites for entertainment, or go rent a good movie. There is always something you won't expect tomorrow, keep that in mind.

I'm not sure what you mean but there are always other sources who could help you. If you have been depressed for 1 year, have you seen a doctor about it? Are you on any medication to help you get better/feel better? Consulting a doctor about the depression is not a sign of weakness AT ALL.... it actually is a sign of strength, a sign that you want to get better and get on doing things you once enjoyed in your life. No one can force you but yourself..... and if your willing to try, then thats a step into positive thinking already. Good LUck!!!
